Hello, I am Ying Zheng, a California state-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have been in this field for a decade, worked in multiple sites such as high school, cross-cultural community center, hospital and church. I would like to see counseling as my passion and life pursuit. I respect everyone’s right to make a decision about faith, but I do approach therapy using Christian perspective and values. In addition, I would borrow techniques from CBT, Motivational Interviewing, client-centered, and psychodynamic.
My style is empathetic, non-judgmental, use reflective listening to help you better understand what you go through, assist you to explore more positive thinking and behavior patterns. Staring from a young age, I realized the power of words, it can build one up and tear one down. Just very simple words can have tremendous impact.
While I was in college, I became very interested in the study of marriage and family, and determined to help those who suffered much hurt in intimate relationships. To this day, I am still holding to this original desire and endeavor to bring healing to one’s heart and mind.
