The act of doing therapy is a bit like tending to a garden; it takes diligence and care to achieve growth! It sounds challenging I know, but the outcomes and successes of working on yourself and your relationships far outweigh the negatives. We all have gardens that need occasional weeding and replanting, and when we are not taking care of ourselves, we can experience feelings of depression, anxiety, restlessness and frustration. In choosing to work with me, I will guide and encourage you by providing the necessary tools and resources that allow you to create a healthy and bountiful garden of your own.

I provide counseling and groups for adults, families & couples. My area of specialty is working with individuals who are survivors of abuse and incest, domestic violence and grief & loss. My experience includes working with families, couples, high risk youth who have experienced trauma. I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, Oakland School District, Bay Area Womens Shelter, Herrick Psychiatric Hospital, Contra Costa County Juvenile facilities and various residential treatment facilities.

Its hard to love our bodies and feel like we are "enough" in a world that is outwardly focused on perfectionism and beauty. Women struggle with body image, shame and embarrassment about how they present themselves to the world. We grow up being judged and prioritized based on our looks, our weight and how we physically fit into the constraints of our male dominated world. We will explore these attitudes and struggles, to promote self-acceptance and empowerment.
