I am a child and family therapist who prefers to work with children who show oppositional behavior and other problematic behaviors. Are you experiencing difficulty communicating with your child? I will work with you and your family, using a strength based approach to figure out what is happening and explore some solutions. I use strategies from multiple theoretical backgrounds including cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, and trauma informed psychotherapy, and have been trained in such treatment models.
I believe that parenting and childhood are difficult roles and that curiosity and empathy create a safe environment that can help us meet our true potential in these roles. I strongly believe in collaborating with families and children in determining treatment goals, and ways of reaching these goals.
