My name is Yasmin Safdie. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 15 years of experience in the field of mental health. Throughout my career, I have worked with individuals from all walks of life in a variety of settings (hospitals, residential treatments, community clinics, intensive programs, outpatient therapy, etc.). I am trained in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma-focused somatic approaches, etc. My approach and style are organic, and they adapt to the needs and desires of the person whom I am working with.
I work from a humanistic and existential lens that incorporates narrative identity, empowerment, and radical acceptance. I have significant experience working with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, dual diagnoses (chronic conditions), and substance use disorders.
I work on creating therapeutic relationships that feel real, safe, and radically accepting. I am honest and straightforward in a way that honors and respects the dignity and worth of every human I work with. I don't strive to tell people how to live their lives but rather to support them in figuring out what they want and need for and by themselves.
