Hello. My name is Yael Sommer. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with experience spanning over two decades. While I possess experience working with individuals across all age groups, my current practice focuses mostly on adults and couples. My therapeutic approach is integrative, drawing from various theories, such as attachment/relational dynamics, client-centered therapy, strength-based approaches, and cognitive behavioral theory. The specific approach I employ with each client depends on their unique concerns, the duration of their therapeutic engagement, and their desired outcomes.
I strive to offer my clients unwavering support and a safe, neutral space to explore their thought processes, communication patterns, and interpersonal dynamics. My ultimate goal is to assist them in unraveling the burdens that have weighed them down by identifying harmful, often hidden, patterns of behavior.
During the first session, I ask my clients questions to help me get a sense of their desired goals for therapy, about their early background years as well as present life, their strengths, and ways of managing hardship.
