I enjoy working with individuals experiencing difficulty in relationships (e.g., romantic, friendship, family), adults who come from dysfunctional childhoods, as well as those with trauma-related issues, posttraumatic stress (e.g., cultural trauma), anxiety, depression, mood disorders, and personality disorders. I love working with neurodiverse clients! I work best with clients who are cooperative, engaged, enthusiastic to change, and motivated to do the therapy work. My style is empathic, warm, honest, direct, and nonjudgmental. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship between client and therapist is crucial for change!
My approach to treatment tends to be an interpersonal process (e.g., psychodynamic theories), heavily influenced by emotion-focused, humanistic, and multicultural theories. Although I am present focused, I believe that current patterns of behavior cannot be understood without an exploration of past relationships and experiences (e.g., trauma, attachment).
My vision is to help individuals, groups, and organizations to embrace diversity, empowerment, and freedom, in which everyone feels a sense of belonging, love, fulfillment, and success!
