I have specialized training in trauma and couples work.
Relationships can be challenging, especially when communication breaks down or connection feels out of reach. Whether you are a couple feeling stuck, an individual navigating a major life change, or a family under stress, you don’t have to do it alone. I offer a warm, supportive space to help you strengthen communication, deepen connection, and heal from relational wounds. Your story, shaped by family, culture, and community influences, matters. My training emphasizes cultural sensitivity and the impact of systemic dynamics on relationships. Together, we’ll work toward meaningful change and lasting emotional connection.

I work primarily with adults and senior adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, and a host of other mental health concerns.
I use accelerated resolution therapy to help you heal from trauma, whether it is from childhood or something more recent. I am certified in A.R.T. and utilize it exclusively because of how quickly it helps you to resolve symptoms and the heavy load of trauma. And if you just need somewhere to vent or to seek an alternative viewpoint, that's also allowed.

I see clients in WY and OR and take a Trauma-Informed Care approach, beginning with authentic connection with clients.
Accepting New Clients via telehealth throughout Wyoming and Oregon! Often people seek out a counselor when they experience crisis or become uncomfortable to the point of wanting to shift the way they walk in the world. This could be anything from relationship difficulties, depressive or anxious moods, angry outbursts, or insomnia. These issues are often just the tip of the iceberg, but by looking at what's beneath the surface, we can relieve the uncomfortable symptoms and change the patterns.

At CornerStone Counseling, we understand life is a mix of beauty and struggles, and seasons of change. It’s during the storms that we need more than awareness of our situation, we need support, guidance, and tools to help us heal. Clients often seek therapy because they feel overwhelmed from trying to push through life on their own. We all heal in different ways, which is why we believe in a person-centered approach. Our work adapts to your pace and individualized needs, not from a confined one-size-fits-all mindset. Therapy here is about being seen, understood, and supported with real-life tools that last and carry you forward.

Hello! I became a counselor because I know what it means to start again. To be human is to carry both hope and heaviness - I’ve learned that the most powerful transformations begin with tiny moments of courage and vulnerability. As a former educator, school counselor, and now therapist, I bring a unique background to my approach. Sacred Start Counseling was born out of my own healing. Oftentimes, we excel at human-DOING but not human-BEING. I am here to help with your human-BEING.

Sessions are focused on the development of concrete skills to manage emotions and thought patterns while using evidence based trauma interventions.
My approach draws from multiple modalities (CBT, DBT, and EMDR) to help clients build safety and stability before exploring deeper concerns. We begin by focusing on the foundations—regulation and meeting core needs—so that our work together can be as effective as possible before moving on to addressing trauma resolution or other goals of treatment.

I am practice EMDR, have experience with trauma, and specialize in equine assisted therapy.
My ideal client is a person, couple, or family who knows that there are hard questions to be asked and is seeking a neutral, caring, and engaging third party to offer authentic insights and ask the hard questions. The goal is to help the client acknowledge, accept, and lift whatever is blocked and help validate what is seeking validation. This may be someone stuck in a pattern or a couple unable to see their strengths while navigating their weaknesses. A client may want someone to hold the space and trust that the clinician will also know when to move forward. My ideal client is open to a variety of modalities for healing.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.

How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.

What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.

Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
