Because traumatic experiences are stored in the body, talking about it can quickly activate the body sensations associated with the trauma. These intrusive body sensations can make it very uncomfortable talking about the traumatic experience.
So, it’s really important that the physiological representation (or trauma-related sensation/reactions) stored in your body, are processed. Then it’s easier to talk about it.
