My interests include Faith Based counseling, Women's issues and College/Career counseling.
Sometimes life is overwhelming. Sometimes we feel alone. Sometimes things come into our lives that we are not expecting and they shake us to our core. When this happens, we can't think clearly and we can't see our next step. Whether you are experiencing grief, loss of a relationship or a job, difficulty setting life goals or coming to terms with your current situation, you need someone to come along beside you to help you through. Someone who has been through life's struggles and made it through to the other side. You need someone to help you sort things out so that you can find your own solutions and be able to move forward.

Do you feel as if you have the weight of the world on your shoulders and you cannot seem to catch a break? Are you trying to manage everyone else's problems, but drowning in your own? Are you a people pleaser? Have you lived for others for so long that your choices are based on their validation versus your own desires? Are you pretending to be someone that you are not to accommodate your family and friends?

Life throws curve balls! Good and Bad! At some point, we all need assistance and support for the challenges and changes that occur in our lives. I believe pursuing support can be a difficult choice, but ultimately a rewarding and productive one! Choosing to process, heal, grow, and find success truly pays off when it leads to increased satisfaction with circumstances, self and relationships with others.

Trauma leaves us feeling anxious, unprotected and not knowing who to trust. You just want to go one day without being triggered. You probably don't even remember a time when you felt safe. You just want to know how to trust yourself, nevermind trusting anyone else. All you know is that you want to feel relief. You want to feel safe and to know that you can trust yourself and others. Most of all you're ready to feel confident, hopeful, and knowing you can accomplish your goals. I want to help get you there!

Life, work, and personal family stress can prevent you from experiencing balance. I provide a safe and supportive environment for clients to share and discuss their concerns. I enjoy witnessing clients grow and experience their "aha" moments. My approach is strength-based, where she works with clients to navigate life's ups and downs. I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, and grief for individuals 12 years old and older. I recognize effective therapy requires a collaborative relationship between therapist and client. I collaboratively create a therapy plan to help persons meet their goals and to feel better.

"We all have times when we feel uncertain and alone. What we are looking for is a place to be ourselves and to talk to someone who will listen and understand us, a counselor who can help us see our situation in a new way and empower us to make changes in our lives." Dr. Hall's counseling is caring and straight-forward. She believes that healing comes from gaining understanding of ourselves and remembering our strengths.

Life can be much different than what we expected it would be like, right? Sure, on the outside, it might look to others like you have it all together... but no matter how hard you try to pretend, the reality you're experiencing is actually far from that. Your emotional energy is totally depleted. Your relationships are strained. You fight feelings of emptiness or that you're not enough. You're plagued with indecision, procrastination, and feel stuck. Maybe you even feel guilty that someone like you should be able to just "get over it" or "deal with it" on your own— and this guilt only perpetuates the negative cycle you’re stuck in.

Women's Issues Therapists

How do you encourage a woman to go to therapy?

It’s helpful to express concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual may be suffering, and what effects it has on them, should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can women prepare for therapy?

Women can prepare for therapy by being willing to talk about their past experiences and their private thoughts. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. Between sessions, it can be useful to write down notes about their reaction to a given event or how they felt at a particular time.

How long does therapy for women’s issues often last?

As with any type of therapy, sessions depend on the individual and the challenges they face. Therapy types like Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Prolonged exposure therapy (PET), and Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. In some cases, such as for women with eating disorders, residential treatment may be recommended for an individual who is judged to be at high risk of self-harm. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

How can women overcome stigma around specific challenges in order to seek therapy?

Women dealing with domestic abuse, sexual assault, eating disorders, and any other number of troubles may feel a stigma around seeking help. It’s important to remember that these issues are not uncommon and there is no shame in getting help for them. Therapy is confidential, and women can talk about their experiences without fear of judgment. Seeking therapy can be a courageous and liberating act, and an important step toward healing and recovery.
