Therapy is a journey of self exploration that often begins with a problem or symptom that brings one pain or discomfort. My role as a therapist is to provide support, skills and resources so you develop insights and healing. We will work together to reach your goals and build a more satisfying life. I am an EMDR Trained therapist. My passions include trauma, young adults / college-age, the LGBTQ+ community and women’s mental health. A comfortable connection and safe therapeutic relationship is top priority in my book. I love working with young adults who are searching for their confidence, sense of self and purpose as they transition to adulthood. I have experience providing therapy in a college counseling center and this population is near and dear to my heart. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, an ally to the community and enjoy working with people as they discover who they are and how to live authentically.

**My practice is currently full**. I work with women to navigate the many challenges and transitions we face throughout our lives, from teens to midlife. I specialize in pregnancy and postpartum issues; anxiety and depression; grief and loss; trauma; and the many stressors of motherhood. Unexpected difficulties can change the way we feel about ourselves and our world, and leave us feeling alone, overwhelmed and anxious. Working together, we can find our way through, to understand ourselves more deeply, reconnect with people around us, and create a better way forward.

I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and I consider myself a "person centered" therapist who believes that the key to having a successful professional relationship is building a strong rapport with my clients. Since obtaining my Master's Degree in Social Work from Boston College in 1996, my career work settings has included community mental health centers, hospital based gero-psychiatric units, emergency services, private practice and residential treatment centers.

I have worked in community mental health centers, school counseling and private practice in California, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. I provide a safe space to treat various issues for adults 18 and over and couples via videoconferencing. I often utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy, yet I often incorporate other approaches depending on my clients needs. I view therapy as a collaborative experience with my clients whom I walk beside and support during our process together. I assist my clients to focus on their personal therapy goals and provide the tools and encouragement to facilitate positive change and personal empowerment.

*PRACTICE IS FULL* I practice from a primarily cognitive-behavioral approach. Treatment typically includes challenged unhelpful beliefs about yourself, others and the world. Exposure and Response Prevention is typically used as the first line of treatment for OCD, OCD related disorders and anxiety disorders. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment, Dialectical Behavioral, and Relational therapies. Any behavior is an intention to sustain the self; yet many times the preserving behavior exacerbates the distress, fear, sadness, or anger.

Offering virtual sessions online. I carefully treat the obstacles that can get in the way of a healthy lifestyle. That might be feelings of despair due to a life situation or from being overwhelmed due to depression or anxiety. Has your life taken a turn that you are not comfortable with? Do you need some guidance to assist you in "getting back on track"? My goal is to achieve a partnership with the client that will result in a development of client self awareness and self actualization -- to become more mindful of yourself and your environment.
