I work from the idea that all of our life experiences are opportunities to discover ourselves. The road to peace, health, healing, purpose, meaning, and happiness is learning how to allow and be more of YOU, and less of who you think you should/ need to be. Through my 27 years of experience working with individuals of all ages and backgrounds in a variety of settings, I have realized that a one-size-fits all model of treatment is not the most effective method of providing support and assisting with change. My therapeutic approach is grounded in the latest research on human and brain development, trauma and attachment, as well as the power of unspoken words and actions. I specialize in working with women, going through transitions or relationship trauma, children, teens with emotional and behavior problems and their parents who struggle with divorce, co-parenting and parenting skills.

I connect easily with clients to feel lighter and clearer in their minds, body, and Spirit. I work with people with stressful careers in medicine, law, finance, and small businesses. Knowing the necessity of keeping a clear head and calm body, yet have been struggling with heartbreak, anxiety, fears, loss and grief that has created overwhelming stress and expectations that limits functioning. It is a challenging balancing act with career, family, relationships, along with finding some quiet time to relax. I help you master these challenges with a very confidential, (no insurance or electronic records) safe, and caring environment.

After the first session, you will have answers and clarity. Children, adolescents, and families thrive when they are heard, affirmed, and supported. Although hardship is inevitable, I believe in each individual's yearning for healing and growth. I work with young people and their families to ease the sting of adversity and to help rebuild their lives as they envision them to be. My areas of focus include anxiety in childhood, sexual trauma, childhood behavior problems, parent-coaching, and supporting mothers.

Kyrie is particularly passionate about working with children/adolescents, including those who have been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Anxiety Disorders. Kyrie honors the client and his/her/ their experience, while using these strengths to help the client live a more holistic life that is congruent to the values they hold.

I believe that we live in challenging times. Many people find it difficult to feel confident and self assured, have peaceful, fulfilling relationships, navigate the demands of finances, family, work and home, and also focus on nourishing self care. These challenges are interconnected. I am a gender-affirming therapist and specialize in working with those who struggle with trauma, relationships, eating disorders, and life transitions. In couples counseling, I work with monogamous, open/poly and kink relationships.

Moving through life repeating the same patterns in relationships can be incredibly frustrating. Dealing with a relentless inner critic, struggling to get away from constant worries about if you're "doing it right," or attempting to heal the disconnect within or with loved ones can all create a significant amount of dis-ease in our lives. Having been a psychotherapist for close to fifteen years I am honored to be a consistent, objective and inquisitive presence for the individuals I get to work with. Life is really rough right now in so many ways! We have never experienced anything like what we are experiencing right now. Life has been flipped upside down, anxiety is sky high, depression is increasing, relationships are suffering, and those with children are being forced to become homeschool teachers. The sense of balance in our lives has been thrown out. We feel stuck, depressed, anxious, and maybe even hopeless. It is really important to take care of yourself in this space and reach out for help, to talk things through, and figure out how to move forward in a positive direction. You don’t need to stay stuck in this space.

My practice is with clients seeking emotional well-being, a deeper sense of themselves, and an improved ability to cope with the distress that accompanies life's challenges and problems. My approach is shaped by the principle that we all have a basic need to feel safe and to know that we matter. My work is informed and guided by the knowledge that a significant number of people dealing with emotional/mental health problems, and many of those who use alcohol and/or drugs, have experienced some form of childhood or adult abuse, trauma, neglect, invalidation, or chaos.

I approach therapy from a trauma perspective because regardless if you’re experiencing depression, poor self esteem, relationship problems, divorce, abuse, anxiety/panic, addiction, self-harm, or simply procrastination — there’s likely something from your past that’s playing havoc with your life today. Whatever holds you captive will also reveal the key for your more positive future. That’s why it’s imperative we start there. Left to yourself, it might just get more muddy and feel overwhelming. But, I’ve witnessed clients transform a negative self concept and painful past into strength, resilience, and healthy living.

Life transitions happen. People come to see me because they're experiencing difficulty coping with emotions and circumstances, struggling with relationships, or self-defeating patterns. They desire new boundaries or improved family dynamics. We work together in a warm, safe environment where deep personal issues are explored, having impact long after therapy has ended. We are dealt challenges: relationship issues, mid-life crises, assertiveness, self-confidence, self esteem, sadness/grief, pet loss, family-of-origin issues, fear of success, career changes, emotional and mood challenges, anxiety, stress and compulsive eating, life limiting illness, or the effects of trauma.
