I frequently work with clients who have experienced early wounding as well as those having difficulty with transitions in relationships, aging, loss, or end of life. I take a holistic view of clients, build upon inherent strengths, and create a partnership to guide and facilitate change, making progress toward goals. I work really well with movers + shakers, helpers + makers: goal-oriented, organized types, as well as caregivers and creatives. I am trauma-informed, apply intersectional, feminist, and body and sex positive lenses, and incorporate harm reduction principles. Though I launched an IOP program at a premier LGBTQ+ health center and am experienced and knowledgable supporting the diversity of our community, I am also cognizant of my lived experience as a cisgender gay male.

I work with individuals and couples struggling with life transitions, depression, anxiety, emotion regulation, trauma, relationship difficulties, and addiction. My approach is collaborative and person-centered, drawing effective interventions from several different therapy approaches. I work with individuals, couples and families. It doesn't matter how many people are sitting in the office, I view each individual within the context of the systems they live in each day. We are all part of many systems, marital, family, school, community, work. The relationships and importance each of these systems place on individuals can sometimes can lead to breakdowns in communication and mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety. Treating the dysfunction in the relationship often restores the feeling of wholeness in an individual and of course leads to stronger deeper relationships between individuals.

I have been working with children and adults for over 20 years, diagnosing and treating mental health issues. I believe there is a very large range of "normal" and we all struggle with life at times.
