You have done a good job of keeping certain parts of yourself well disguised from others, thinking “If they knew this about me they would….” You wonder what it might be like to stop living a double life. Therapy with me is a gradual process of getting to know what happened to you. It is not a quick fix because nothing about you is broken. Some areas I focus on include; relational trauma, imposter syndrome, perfectionism, body shame/restrictive eating and experiences of being marginalized.

Loss, uncertainty, and feeling overwhelmed are part of being human. We all experience moments in life that challenge our capacity to cope. I'm an experienced therapist with a collaborative, client-centered approach that incorporates my professional training, life experience, and ongoing passion for the work. For more than 20 years, my work has included individual and couple therapy, group therapy, teaching, training, and supervision. I am also trained in the Internal Family Systems Model (IFS) and offer an IFS therapy approach for individuals and couples, as well as supervision and consultation from this lens. I start with a free phone consultation to connect with potential clients/supervisees and assess whether we are a good match for one another.

I feel very fortunate to do the job that I do and I approach therapy as a real collaboration between my clients and myself. I make HOME VISITS to clients who cannot travel conveniently or prefer psychotherapy sessions in their homes. I will be facilitating a CO-ED RELATIONSHIP GROUP one night during the week. The fee is $25. There is no obligation to commit, though I am looking for people who like to come weekly. I do Individual, Couples, Family, and Group Therapy. I have two groups on BEREAVEMENT in MILTON and ARLINGTON. I am forming a GROUP on SUBSTANCE ABUSE/RECOVERY ISSUES. I have a lot of experience with children of ALL AGES. I believe in STRENGTH-BASED COUNSELING.

Who are you really? This is a question I ask my clients. I have been a psychotherapist and consultant for over 30 years. I draw on my innate intuitive abilities as well as my traditional clinical training to bring healing and transformation to my clients. My family systems background allows me to see the individual as a multifaceted system. What we perceive as a “problem” often reflects how we have adapted to the stress and trauma that we may have endured. Our perceived problems, such as addiction to substances, and other self- defeating patterns become encoded within our whole system, and ultimately distort our true essence.

I am a German-American psychotherapist who works alongside children and the adults who care for them. I focus my work on children (birth to young teens) and their adults through family sessions, individual, parent guidance, and groups/workshops. I am honored to work with families on all issues that arise for their children individually (social fears, peer issues, gender, sexuality, academic) and as a family unit (loss, stress, family structure).
