Change is inevitable, they say...and it’s hard. Whether the change you're experiencing is unexpected or was hard sought-after, the effect is largely the same: it leaves you feeling disoriented, misunderstood and alone. In place of the control and mastery you once felt in your life, there is now chaos. You find yourself either paralyzed by in-decision or fighting desperately to find a foothold, but you just keep slipping...

Whether this is your first time in therapy, or you have been to therapy before, I respect the fact that you are reaching out. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and address your concerns. Prior to the first session I will send you a form to complete, which will ask you several background questions. This will be very helpful as we get to know each other. We will do a preliminary treatment plan, where we will discuss your treatment goals and how you might start achieving them. I offer telehealth statewide during evenings and weekends.

Hello! To help you choose a therapist that's a good fit, I'll tell you a bit about myself. I've been a licensed therapist for 15 years, with an additional 5 years providing in-home treatment and clinical administration. Although I currently live in Colorado, I spent the first 18 years of my life in Wisconsin and still maintain a close connection with many friends and places. In addition to my Professional Counseling license for mental health, I'm EMDR certified for trauma and I'm a Colorado Licensed Addiction Counselor (this hasn't transferred to Wisconsin yet).

Kelly Pickens is an ADHD Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who works with adults and older adolescents with ADHD. She has extensive training in the underlying mechanisms of ADHD. Kelly understands the struggles people with ADHD experience, which go way beyond not being able to pay attention. There is a lot of misinformation and negative bias about ADHD among the public, in the media, and even in the clinical setting. People face significant challenges when trying to find a provider/doctor/clinician who fully understands ADHD and can diagnose and effectively treat the disorder with expertise and compassion.
