What if the distress you are experiencing is actually a sign you are ready to grow, not a sign that there is something wrong with you? I believe we adapt to what happens to us in smart ways so we can be protected and live each day. Eventually though, some of those adaptations end up causing us problems in relationships, our bodies, and our minds. I embrace the idea that our True Selves are imperfect, curious, desiring of connection, and have a need to be seen and heard.
