I believe we all go through challenging periods and difficult experiences in our lives when we can feel overwhelmed, scared, angry or isolated. During these times it can be particularly difficult to reach out and ask for help, and it often requires a great amount of courage to share these painful feelings with others. Regardless of what brings you to therapy, it is essential to have a strong and comfortable relationship with your therapist in order to feel safe enough to share your personal experiences. I make it my goal to build a warm and supportive environment where we can explore your specific concerns and circumstances.
I am extensively trained in Internal Family Systems therapy and draw heavily from “parts work” to help clients explore parts of themselves that are in pain and wanting change. Together we can befriend various protective parts of your internal system that may have assisted you in the past, but are currently keeping you stuck in dysfunctional patterns.
Everyone needs to feel seen and listened to in a meaningful way, and we all grow from alliances in which we feel safe and gently challenged. Let’s work together to unearth the roots of your suffering, and make positive, proactive changes in your life.
