William Robert Sheppard, DMin, LPC, LMFT, Marriage & Family Therapist in Fort Worth
I am not the mythical King Midas; everything he touched turned to gold. I am not a graffiti artist, trying to paint a happy face on something that sees itself as worthless. I am a custodian, wiping away the debris off of someone of immeasurable value; who does not realize its value. My goal is for patients to recognize their incredible worth, and the abundance of personal strengths and tools they have inside themselves. I want each one to be fully human, fully free, and fully alive as soon as possible.
I utilize therapies that empower the client. I start by helping each one to realize his/her strengths. I have a passion for understanding and using new, proven, methods discovered by research. These methods the client takes with him/her to maintain the growth. Included in my treatment are specialty methods like EMDR and EFT.
My practice utilizes the latest electronic tools available. For your convenience you go to my web site and fill out all the paperwork in advance. You can also set and manage your appointments through the online scheduler.

William Robert Sheppard's Groups

Chronic Pain

The objective of this group is life management skills, which leads to chronic pain management. This will be achieved by discovering the purpose of pain, what makes it chronic, what are the personal resources each one has, and how to use the resources to manage life, and consequently manage chronic pain. The format of each group will consist of lectures, group questions and interaction, to understand and apply the resources. There are six sessions, one evening a week. The entire series will be repeated every 12 weeks.

Couple Communication

The purpose of the group is to effectively communicate to and understand your mate. This will be accomplished by utilizing the insights gained from the recent discoveries in neurological research on the brain. From those discoveries I have concluded one can only know and love others to the degree he/she knows and loves him/her self. There is one session each week for four weeks. Cost per session is for the couple.

More about this group

The objective is to explain what is ADD/HD. The latest brain research on the cause and characteristics of the disorder will be presented. The most up-to-date diagnostic and screening criteria and tools will be explained. The medical treatments which are available will be defined. Especially highlighted will be some the non-medical treatment options offered through the BRAIN BENDERS program. These programs can work in conjunction with the medical method or as an alternative method. We work closely with your physician, but we do not prescribe medication.
