William Metcalfe, PhD, Psychologist in Houston
I have been a licensed psychologist for over 20 years and enjoy providing high quality psychological evaluations and services to children (age 10 and older), adolescents and adults of all ages. I have worked in hospital, community mental health, university and private practice settings. I provide ADHD and LD assessments, individual psychotherapy for anxiety, depression, and other concerns, as well as relationship therapy for couples. I have also led several therapy groups and supervised many psychologists in training.
I strive to quickly learn what I need to know about you so that I can be of the greatest and most efficient assistance to you. I have a knack for putting people at ease as they initiate this process, which really helps move things along!
Often the most difficult step in any journey is the first. Good for you for starting the process and regardless of where you are in your journey, I would welcome an opportunity to assist you.

William Metcalfe's Groups

Dissertation Support Group

Dr. Metcalfe conducted Dissertation Support Groups at Michigan State University for over eight years while a staff psychologist and assisted many students with completion of their dissertation. Most students were able to successfully defend their dissertations within 1-2 years. There were a few members who took longer than that, but if the student persisted in coming to the group and working on the dissertation, they would inevitably finish. He invites doctoral students from all disciplines to join together to benefit from his experience and the collective wisdom of the students.
