I am a licensed clinical psychologist who has been in private practice in Manhattan for over forty years. I specialize in gay group therapy, individual and couples therapy for a wide range of clients . As one of the founders of modern cognitive therapy, I am committed to helping you identify and change the stories you tell yourself. That will help you become more of the person you want to be. Known as a warm and strong leader who knows how to move quickly to the heart of a problem, I also have a great sense of humor and bring a lot of playfulness to our work together. One of my specialities is helping people deal with loneliness.
My gay groups are intimate, challenging and fun. You can change how you think about yourself and practice expressing yourself differently. They are particularly helpful when you are in transition (leaving or beginning a relationship, changing careers, dating, coming out) or in helping you to become "unstuck." My groups function like a healthy family.
I enjoy working with straight, gay and bisexual clients. I am experienced working with creative individuals and people who want to have goals. I love working with gay or straight couples and have a knack for making each partner feel comfortable and understood. I teach skills to deal with difficult conversations with family members, friends and partners.

My gay groups are intimate, challenging and fun: like healthy families. You can change how you think about yourself and practice expressing yourself differently. They are particularly helpful when you are in transition (leaving or beginning a relationship, changing careers, dating, coming out) or in helping you to become "unstuck."
