I generally hold the hope that my clients will find more joy in life, feel more settled, and cultivate the ability to listen to and express their own voices. Much of the modern world serves to separate people from their own instincts, the good in you that knows what you need better than I ever could. To that end, I believe in an eclectic theoretical approach, one that draws on a wide range of perspectives including humanist/existential philosophy, Jungian psychodynamics, attachment theory, trauma-informed and client-centered practice, because I believe people are eclectic.
I try first to understand what aspects of my client’s psyche are causing them pain, then to help them have a wider, more creative relationship with their pain in whatever way will be most effective for them, and finally to help them find meaning in their painful experiences. I want to help people fall in love with their own stories.
I love working with adults, young adults, and children who have experienced relationship issues, dysfunctional family dynamics, systemic oppression, trauma, addiction, depression and anxiety.
