Hi! My name is Brad Pankey. I enjoy helping clients who: (1 ) feel like their life is getting smaller over time; (2) think about food and/or their body all day; (3) feel stuck in their heads amongst a whirlwind of thoughts; (4) feel as though they are living a life that lacks meaning; (5) who feel trapped by needing to control every aspect of their life; and (6) are experiencing crushing grief and life transitions. Those who find success with me come to therapy truly ready for change and interested in trying something new in therapy. They appreciate humor and a therapist who listens with an open heart while also challenging them.
My training includes courses in cultural competency, trauma, eating disorders, psychopathology, and more. I have trained +70 hours in treating conditions of over control. Through a trauma informed, culturally sensitive lens, I work with elements of present moment awareness to help people more effectively experience their inner world and live their values.
I see suffering as arising when we become disconnected from our values, lose contact with the here and now, and when we get fused to thoughts and emotions. I see my clients as possessing the attributes needed to spark change and growth now. Together, we discover what is needed to reconnect with one’s values to be the person they desire to be.
