Somatic Therapists in Waukesha, WI
I have specialized training in Brainspotting, Somatic Work, and Imago Relationship Therapy.
I seek to create a space for people who have ever felt out of place, pressured to fit into boxes that don't reflect who they truly are, or follow patterns that don't serve them. My practice is rooted in the belief that authenticity is not something to fix, but something to be honored. I work with individuals and couples navigating neurodivergence, codependent relationship patterns, and those who identify as “minimizers” who want support coming out of their shell. I also support gender-diverse clients navigating social and medical transitions. My practice is sex-positive and knowledgeable of ENM/poly relationships.

As a fresh therapist intern, I offer integrative therapy using existential-humanistic, somatic, and DBT approaches.
Feeling stuck, in transition, or asking "what am I even doing?" Maybe you’re exploring purpose, identity, relationships, or life’s twists and turns. If you want a therapist who’s human—not clinical—who will laugh with you, be curious alongside you, and walk with you authentically, you’re in the right place. Together, we’ll uncover strengths, explore meaning, and grow—sometimes seriously, sometimes with a little humor.

I utilize an eclectic approach, incorporating verbal reflection, art making, movement, metaphor, somatic processing, and personalized ritual.
Life's motion can feel intense and demanding, moving at a pace beyond one's stride, resulting in chronic stress, anxiety, and for some, chronic pain. Throughout this motion, self-care and nurturing relationships can feel overwhelming. Connecting with another human can be one of the safest ways to ground, center, and encounter what is asking for acknowledgment and care, forging a new pathway. I believe the therapeutic relationship and environment has immense potential to provide a secure container for what is felt to be seen and explored, giving fear the opportunity to be faced and transformed into intentional forward movement.

Individual and EMDR therapy. You might be someone who is frustrated with the world, feeling like you have to be perfect even as everything falls apart around you. Maybe you didn’t grow up with the best support, or you are not feeling well in life right now. On one hand, you have everything together, but on the other hand, it's all falling apart. In therapy, my goal is to go beyond just coping skills and get to the root of what is creating this uneasy feeling.
Sessions with me feel like an open, judgment-free, and fun conversation while also getting the support, structure, and honesty that you need.

I use a balance of somatic, mindfulness techniques to help you build a greater connection to yourself.
You are ready to feel more grounded, clear, and like yourself. You’re functioning, holding it all together, and from the outside, everything might look “fine.” But inside? It feels messy often. You know there has to be more. More ease. More clarity. More you. Maybe anxiety keeps buzzing in the background, or your boundaries blur more than you’d like. Maybe you're just tired of doing it all alone. You’ve reached a point where “fine” isn’t enough anymore—and you’re ready for something deeper. You want to be able to trust yourself, your relationships, and really enjoy the life you have worked so hard for.

I have received continuing education in treatment modalities such as: Christian Integration, Complex Trauma Treatment, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Self-Criticism and Shame Resolution, Affair Recovery, Betrayal Trauma, Written Exposure Therapy for Trauma, and Forgiveness.
Has infidelity, family issues, or other hurts disrupted your peace in relationships? Because we were designed to live in harmony with self, God, and others, it's painful and frustrating when we are hurt or disregarded. I help those whose relationships aren't working quite right understand what triggers their hurts, increase compassion for themselves and their loved ones, and teach skills to develop healthy, safe, secure connections. This oftentimes includes exploration of early childhood experiences where important relationships set fear and confusion for how to be close to someone. Healing that pattern is possible!

You're feeling anxious, overwhelmed or maybe even fearful of the future. All you've been wanting is to feel understood and validated by those around you. You remember times when you've felt better, more yourself, but now you just feel so disconnected. Going through challenges like these can feel really isolating, but you do not need to go it alone. Connecting with a therapist can be a great way to start your healing process. My favorite part of being a therapist is having the opportunity to sit across from someone and help them feel seen, valued and understood, while also offering day to day tools to help them feel better.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.
Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.
Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.
What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
