The most important relationship you have is with yourself. My goal is to support you in finding peace by re-connecting you with who you really are at the core: before the trauma happened, before life changed unexpectedly, before the conditioning that made you feel less-than, underneath the lingering depression and anxiety. Together we'll explore what's getting in the way of your best life, and work towards self-awareness and acceptance.

Life can just really suck sometimes! Therapy can often be the jump start needed to help you move in the direction of healing. I work primarily with adolescents and young adults. Currently, I am the only certified FBT Therapist in the state of Wisconsin, which is the leading treatment approach for adolescents/young adults diagnosed with an eating disorder. In addition, I also treat anxiety, OCD, social anxiety, and mood related difficulties. I am also here if you are navigating a difficult life transition... those can be brutal! I have been a therapist for just over 10 years and would love to hear more about your goals!

You're ready to move beyond survival mode and step into a life where you can thrive. Maybe you’re exhausted from trying to hold it all together. You feel anxious about keeping up, worry you’re not enough, or question who you are in this season of life. Maybe motherhood has left you feeling like parts of yourself have disappeared, or college and early adulthood have brought on impossible pressures and expectations. Relationships feel complicated, your inner critic is loud, and even small decisions are overwhelming. It feels like too much to carry alone, and it’s natural to long for relief, clarity, and a sense of confidence again.

Finding a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation for your child might seem like an uphill battle. I began conducting ADHD, Autism, & Gifted evaluations after years of hearing the same concern over and over. "We're on a 6+ month wait list." I decreased hours at UW-Madison to provide community-based autism and ADHD evaluations through insurance and hopefully, in some small way, shorten the time it takes to get (early) intervention services. I have 10 years of experience conducting and supervising evaluations in the schools, in private practice, & at UW-Madison.

Do you feel anxious even when everything looks fine on the outside? Are your relationships struggling despite how hard you try? Maybe you're noticing patterns you can't break: people-pleasing, perfectionism, never feeling quite enough.
You might be realizing your childhood shaped you in ways you didn't expect—not because anything was dramatically "wrong," but because early experiences taught you to stay on guard, work for approval, or put everyone else first.
I help people understand how their past created their present patterns and find the relief they're seeking. I meet you where you are and tailor our work to what you need.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
