To the outside world, you're seen as a pretty together person who's hard-working, accomplished and self-sufficient. When life get's tough, you buck up, soldier on, & "never let 'em see you bleed." You bottle up your pain and keep a tight lid on it. But, behind this exterior, you're actually hanging on by your fingertips. The stress on your shoulders is unbearably heavy & you're overwhelmed, stressed-out, and you feel like you're drowning under the pressure of it all. You're pain is silent, but your suffering is real and it's taking a toll on your health, productivity and your relationships with others.

You have made a courageous step towards achieving mental and emotional stability. The journey towards psychological wellness is a process, a maintenance. Similarly to weight loss and diabetes, mental and emotional health cannot be cured, but it be maintained successfully. I am a firm believer in the Biopsychosocial model of health and wellness. All parts of our being are inter-related from biological, psychological and social perspectives. If one area is unbalanced, the others follow suit.

On the inside, you're stuck in self-doubt, worry about disappointing others, and feel like every accomplishment is quickly replaced by the next thing you should be doing.
Therapy is more than a place to vent. I specialize in skills-focused therapy for adults who want meaningful change. Using evidence-based approaches like ACT and CBT, we'll build practical ways to manage anxiety and overthinking, improve relationships, and respond differently to difficult thoughts and emotions so they have less influence over your choices.

We may consider how cultural and systemic factors have impacted both your relationships and beliefs about yourself. I provide EMDR for clients who have experienced trauma or have painful memories.

I'm passionate about helping you navigate life transitions and challenges by teaching skills to manage stress and anxiety rather than struggle against them.
Are you constantly overthinking, exhausted, and stuck replaying everything when you try to rest? From the outside things may look fine, but inside you may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or worn down by trying to hold it all together. You might want clarity, relief, or to finally feel like yourself again. Spring is a season of change. Change can be scary, but you don’t have to fix everything at once. Therapy offers a steady place to slow down, understand what is driving the stress, and build changes that actually feel sustainable and realistic for your life.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
