Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed by emotions, stuck in painful patterns, or disconnected from the people you care about most? Many of the clients I work with—children, adults, couples, and families—come to therapy feeling exhausted by anxiety, trauma, relationship conflict, or shame. You may be struggling to regulate emotions, communicate effectively, rebuild trust, or make sense of experiences that continue to affect your daily life. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

You feel stuck in survival mode - constantly alert, emotionally overwhelmed, exhausted, or shut down. Trauma and PTSD can make it difficult to feel safe, connected, rested, and fully present in your life and relationships. Deep down, you may wonder if something is wrong with you. You worry life will always be this hard. It’s been difficult to talk about. You try to push it aside and keep going, but it’s getting harder. I provide statewide telehealth therapy in Wisconsin for adults struggling with trauma, PTSD, emotional dysregulation, BPD, and narcissistic abuse recovery.

I offer a safe, supportive environment and have found empathy, understanding and humor are important in building a therapeutic alliance. My abilities are well suited to people with a history of trauma and who are intuitive and creative. Whether you're looking for short term therapy or a deeper process, my skill level applies to both. Each person is unique and I anticipate and enjoy building a relationship that assumes collaboration. I then work with them toward activating their own healing potential, no matter the age. I work well with individuals who have had treatment failures in the past. I no longer accept BCBS.

Hello! I'm Katelyn, a LPC specializing in working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma. My therapeutic approach is behavioral, with a strong emphasis on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), helping clients build practical skills to manage emotions, cope with challenges, and create meaningful change in their lives. We will begin with a personal assessment to better understand what brings you to therapy. You are encouraged to share what feels comfortable, there is no rush. We will move towards harder topics when the time is right. We will then collaborate to develop goals focusing on growth and healing.

I love working with clients who aren't afraid to be curious, or who may still be afraid, but are willing to gently explore those tender places in themselves that keep them stuck and unfulfilled. Anyone who is willing to dip a toe into unfamiliar waters is brave and capable of obtaining the healing and peace they're seeking. I love being a kind and, sometimes, firm guide in this process and am humbled and gratified to walk alongside my clients on this path.

If you've been through something that changed how you see yourself, other people, or the world — and you've tried to move past it without being able to — you're not broken. Your nervous system is doing exactly what it learned to do to keep you safe. The problem is that it's still running that program long after the threat has passed. I work with adults who are done just managing symptoms. My clients want to understand what actually happened to them — in their body, not just their thinking — and to do the focused, structured work that changes how their nervous system responds, not just how they talk about it.

Are we all just choosing from our photos? Also.....counseling can SUCK. I know because I’ve been there. If I had to choose between therapy or assembling IKEA furniture while wearing winter mittens, I’d have gone with the furniture (hands down). But here’s the thing: skipping counseling didn’t solve my struggles. I decided to try again and I found someone who didn’t make me want to run for the hills, someone who really saw me and gave me hope. And that’s what inspired me to become a counselor.

Lately do you find yourself thinking "something's got to change?" Well, NOW is the time to start finding your way forward. I've supported many people (including numerous fellow therapists looking for their own psychological "tune-up") over my 25+ years of offering counseling and been witness to some pretty great outcomes when together we map out the next steps and make adjustments along the way. I invite you to join me in finding your path to a more satisfying quality of life.

Many people appear “fine” on the outside while internally carrying chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship strain, burnout, ADHD-related challenges, or unresolved trauma. Over time, survival mode can affect your nervous system, relationships, confidence, focus, and sense of peace. You are not broken. Often, your mind and body adapted the best way they could to prolonged stress, painful experiences, or emotional overload. I provide trauma-informed therapy for veterans, professionals, high-performing adults, and individuals seeking practical, human-centered support in a calm and emotionally safe environment.

Admitting that things are overwhelming and that we need some help is a hard thing to do. There is no shame in admitting that we can all benefit from a little extra help at some time or another in our life. I believe that at the heart of most of our struggles lies our disconnection from our true, authentic selves. I believe my greatest strength lies in my ability to see beneath your accumulation of traumatic experiences, adopted belief systems, and pain to your true essence in order to assist you on the journey of becoming reacquainted with your magic.
