Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed by emotions, stuck in painful patterns, or disconnected from the people you care about most? Many of the clients I work with—children, adults, couples, and families—come to therapy feeling exhausted by anxiety, trauma, relationship conflict, or shame. You may be struggling to regulate emotions, communicate effectively, rebuild trust, or make sense of experiences that continue to affect your daily life. Whatever brings you here, you don’t have to navigate it alone.

My approach is to work with you as an individual not as a diagnosis. I believe goals must be meaningful to you first and foremost and not merely arbitrary numbers and ratings. I view my role as providing my years of expertise, experience and education to match your journey toward health and wellbeing. I work with children, families, adults and older adults. My work might be play with a child to facilitate expression of emotion or facilitating psychological flexibility with an older adult. I work with everyone from all walks of life. I prefer to find out how I can help, than to never know I could have helped.

I have been working with kids, teens, and families for over ten years. Whether it has been in a children’s hospital, an intensive program, or a small community practice, I have continued to learn and grow alongside my patients. I believe that trust, compassion and a sense of humor allow for a strong therapeutic relationship. My philosophy is that all of us - kids, parents, and people - do well when we are able to do well.

I will engage your child or adolescent in services that are fit to their unique individual mental health needs. Addressing therapy through a person-centered approach allows our therapeutic journey to focus on the strengths that your child brings to session. We will use those strengths to enhance the areas of growth and change. I firmly believe that therapy is a joint relational effort, that together we can help you identify significant areas of your story that need special attention and together we can begin the process of integrating those experiences in to your life, allowing the soul to BE.

Are you craving clarity, healing, and a deeper sense of wholeness? My ideal client is thoughtful, intuitive, and carrying questions — sometimes about neurodivergence (like ADHD or autism), trauma, identity, or long-standing emotional patterns. You may feel like you’ve been shape-shifting or pushing through for years, and now you’re ready to pause, reflect, and truly understand yourself. Whether you’re seeking therapy or a comprehensive evaluation, your goal is the same: to move forward with insight, confidence, and a renewed sense of self.

Today you are one step closer to feeling empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being. As a solution-focused psychotherapist, my goal is to help you uncover your true potential and lead a life that is worth celebrating. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. By applying complementary psychotherapy approaches and techniques, we will unearth long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may be preventing you from experiencing a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

Oppositional Defiance (ODD) Therapists
What is the most effective treatment for oppositional defiant disorder?
The treatment of Oppositional defiant disorder (ODD) will involve multiple approaches designed to help both the youngster and their parents, sometimes including medication. A therapist will help a child learn ways to regulate their emotions, curb their impulsiveness, and counteract anger, defiance, and disruption, while showing parents ways to bring these lessons into their home. A technique designed for children with conditions like ODD, known as Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS), may also be used. CPS addresses a child’s concerns and rewards appropriate responses while discouraging harsh punishment or criticism.

How does treatment for oppositional defiant disorder work?
Treatment for ODD addresses the issues underlying a child’s defiance and disruption, the emotional regulation and impulse-control skills they lack, and the way adults respond to them. ODD therapy is based on the idea that children with the disorder understand the difference between right and wrong, that they want to behave well, and that, with help, they can. By responding to the child with empathy instead of harsh criticism, ignoring nonviolent behaviors, and rewarding positive actions, a therapist, and the other adults in a child’s life, can help children improve their behavior.

How long does therapy for oppositional defiant disorder take?
Therapy for oppositional defiant disorder is not a short-term undertaking. Depending on the severity of a child’s symptoms, their age, the presence of other conditions like ADHD, anxiety or a mood disorder, and their family dynamic, it can take months before improvement is noted. The cooperation of parents and teachers is crucial, because the skills learned in therapy must be practiced in real-world situations, with all their potential triggers.

Does oppositional defiant disorder go away?
ODD can remit following treatment. ODD is often diagnosed in nursery school, and early intervention is essential for a positive prognosis. In two-thirds of children, according to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, symptoms resolve within three years.
