Hi, I’m Katie! I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, and the kind of overwhelm that builds when you’ve been holding it together for a long time. If you feel constantly on edge, stuck in cycles of overthinking or shutdown, or struggling in relationships despite your best efforts—you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with are insightful and capable but carry a level of internal stress that’s hard to explain and even harder to turn off. Together, we make sense of these patterns and work toward feeling more grounded, less reactive, and more like yourself again.

Many of the people I see are carrying the effects of trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, or major life transitions, and want a space where they don't have to pretend they have it all together.
I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) with more than 15 years of experience in community mental health. I have worked across a wide range of settings, including outpatient therapy, crisis services, and intensive community programs, and have supported people through some of the most difficult moments of their lives. In addition to providing therapy, I have supervised clinical teams and led mental health programs, giving me a broad perspective on what truly helps people heal.

Clients walking through my door are those who are ready for change, but unsure of where to start. They may feel overwhelmed, stuck in old patterns, feeling disconnected from their true selves, and searching for meaning in life. Many are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma responses, perfectionism, and identify questions. They want both practical tools to work through these issues and deeper insight. They don't want to just cope - they want to truly understand themselves. They want to feel more grounded, confident, and aligned in their daily life and relationships and find their sense of purpose.

I work best with individuals who are willing to begin addressing the impact of past experiences and trauma. You don’t need to have everything figured out, but a willingness to reflect, be honest, and engage in the process is important. I understand this process can be challenging at times, and I value working with people who are open to both support and gentle challenge along the way. If you’re looking for a space where you can show up as you are, while also being encouraged to grow, take ownership of your healing, and move toward lasting change, we may be a good fit.

Clients often describe my approach as calm, compassionate, and gently challenging. Are there past traumas or wounds that are holding you back? Have you been feeling anxious and can’t stop worrying? Are you described as a perfectionist or your self-esteem feels nonexistent? Has it been challenging to engage in your life and find joy? Are you terrified to set boundaries and put yourself first? These concerns can keep you stuck and unfulfilled, but together we can create a path forward.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
