I understand on a personal level, that working on oneself is not always easy. You must be brave, motivated to heal, and have the strength and self-awareness to seek help. If you have the strength to take these steps, you have the strength within yourself to address your issues and heal your struggles.
Welcome, and congratulations on taking the first step to living your best life! Are you struggling with a pattern of unhealthy and unsatisfying relationships or recovering from a painful breakup or divorce? I can help you heal and create the space for healthier, more satisfying relationships in the future. Are you struggling with the depression, anxiety, and isolation that comes with navigating a global pandemic? Have you experienced physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and are unsure of where to turn to? Do you struggle to regain power and agency over a life overwhelmed by trauma? Better days are on the horizon!
Trauma is any adverse experience that causes extreme emotional reaction: nightmares, flashbacks, anxiety etc. When meeting with me many reach their destination feeling guilty for their response to their unique experience — because its “less than” others. As we begin the journey to health and recovery, I assure all that their individual experience is different and unique. Our goal is to get to the point where you know that your feelings/emotions are not better or worse than another’s, as all individuals have a right to their feelings. No trauma is better, worse, harder or easier than another because it depends on how we react.
Therapy is a collaborative process where I work with my clients to meet their personalized goals. I offer empathetic therapeutic care to children, adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. I operate from a systemic perspective which means I take into consideration a client's family, work, school, friends, and greater community to see how these systems may be impacting current issues. I am open to new clients.
Clearing past trauma can allow you to live, love and pursue your goals in the now rather than living in reaction to the past. Eliminating triggers for using substances can help you get and stay sober.I have used EMDR to help people with just about any MH issue with great success. In addition, I have a background that I feel allows me to be of special help to veterans, emergency responders, survivors of sexual assault and anyone who struggles with shame or guilt for any reason. EMDR in conjunction with Trauma informed guilt reduction therapy can be very healing. See website: rwesttherapy.com
I look forward to working with people who are interested in personal growth. No matter what your life issues are, I will treat you with the dignity and respect you deserve. I offer complete confidentiality with sliding scale fees beginning at just $50. My private office is a safe and comfortable environment where we can work without interruption. I specialize in Relationships, PTSD, Anxiety, and Depression using an approach designed to empower you to live the life you prefer and deserve. I can also help if you have legal issues related to domestic or acting out behaviors.

NOT accepting new clients at this time! Mental health is an ongoing process, and sometimes it can feel crushing. Maybe you've been feeling unwell for a while, maybe it's a brand new feeling for you, or maybe it comes and goes over time. Wherever you are in your process, you don't have to figure it out alone. I opened Hold Fast Counseling Services, LLC to collaborate with clients to build awareness and insights, fortify internal and relational connections, develop meaning in the intersections of our experiences and identities, support development and expression of gratitude and joy, and flourish.
My passion is helping couples understand and resolve conflict. My specialty is communication, conflict resolution and anger management. I've been in marriage and family counseling for over 30 years. At Celebrate Marriage we provide solution-focused brief marriage counseling. By "brief" we mean 6 to 12, 60 - 75 minute sessions.
Many of us go through a process of hoping for change, personal growth or, perhaps, acceptance within ourselves. I'm here to walk that journey with you and help you reach realistic goals to positively impact your daily life. I believe that establishing rapport between a client and therapist is the foundation in providing the best outcome for change. You'll find that my therapeutic approach is empathetic, non-judgmental, and transparent while also incorporating a bit of light-heartedness. I work with a wide variety of clients with specialty populations that include healthcare workers, first responders, and sexual assault survivors.

The purpose of my life is to help you find meaning and purpose in yours. Your life is your story. Write well. Edit often.
The clients I work with are coping with not only addiction issues, but are having problems with depression, anxiety, trauma, impulse control problems, anger, and much more. I take a holistic approach to treatment, meaning that in treatment, we focus on the whole person - physical, social, emotional and mental. Addiction and mental health recovery is an active process, and I understand the process. If you are seeking a life of peace and happiness; of successes and reaching goals, I will be your guide.
Are past experiences holding you back in life from participating in relationships, feeling confident in your daily life endeavors or achieving your personal goals? I have a passion for helping individuals to process through events that are interfering with them enjoying and actively participating in their lives in present time. I have extensive experience working with people struggling from trauma, and am a certified Brainspotting Therapist, as well as trained in EMDR and IFS Therapy. Therapy is a relationship, and I treat each of my clients with respect and integrity, approaching this relationship in a warm, validating manner.
Treatment is an incredibly personal choice and it is of the utmost importance that you feel understood, validated, and cared for by your psychologist. Although my practice is strongly grounded in science and research, I approach each person as a unique individual. As a Clinical Psychologist and Professor of Psychology, I teach, research, and apply treatments that are based on science and evidence (along with validation, compassion, and respect) to help clients deal with anxiety, depression, impulse control, anger management, suicide, self-harm, emotion and behavioral dysregulation, and personality disorders.
Stress and worry can take its toll on our minds and bodies. If you experience high levels of these, or feel empty at the end of the day, I will provide a safe and caring environment with which to explore the causal factors. I enjoy working with codependency, Self-development, life transitions, and relational dynamics.
