Do you feel like you're at war with your body? Maybe it's a Parkinson's diagnosis, chronic pain that the doctors keep dismissing, or the residual impact of trauma leaving you feeling out of sorts. You are tired of only being seen for your diagnosis and you know that there is more to life than managing your symptoms. You are ready to feel at peace with your mind and your body.

I work with people who want to start or continue their journey in healing from trauma, clients who may be struggling to navigate what it means to be neurodivergent and clients who want to learn more about their own identity throughout this process. I love being able to help people better understand and validate their lived experiences through interview-style assessments for Autism, ADHD or PTSD. Together, we can work on reducing shame, blame and guilt surrounding traumas, decrease hypervigilance and avoidance to work toward valued living.

As someone who spends most of the day caring for other people, you may believe that burnout is unavoidable or even inevitable. Some even wear it as a badge of honor, demonstrating their commitment. I'm here to tell you that caring for others can also include caring for yourself, and therapy is here to help navigate that balance. I specialize in supporting those in helping professions—teachers, healthcare workers, first responders— and caregivers who feel burned out, emotionally drained from caring for others, or overwhelmed by systemic pressures and lack of support.

Awesome! You've made it to this moment. Its not easy to start looking for a therapist but now that you've been clicking on a few profiles you're probably figuring out what vibes for you and what doesn't. My individual and group services focus on adults and adolescents struggling with substance use issues, depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, stress reduction, and transitional/life challenges. This is not stuffy therapy. I've been known to swear from time to time (when appropriate of course!) and been told my style is warm and compassionate, offering an interactive setting for understanding, growth and healing.

If you are ready to dive deep into the embodied experience of healing, I may be the therapist for you. I work with creatives, artists, and musicians, but I also firmly believe we are all creative beings, and that process of creating art of any kind has profound impacts on our inner worlds. You don't need to have any experience or knowledge of music beyond your own unique relationship to music in your life. Relationships, to self and others, are where we can find support and healing. I offer integrative, personalized healing experiences that center you and your story.

Frustrated? Down? Simply want to be functioning as well as the next person? Anxious just going to the grocery store? Is your teen having trouble getting their homework done, hiding away in their room, and saying everything is, "fine." Daily living isn't easy. There's really no way around it. It's hard for you, it's hard for your kids (if you have them), it's hard for all of us. The great thing is we are not alone and we don't have to go through it alone. Life is so much better when we talk things through and get support. So many times we think we are the only ones feeling this way...sad, anxious, angry, hopeless...we aren't.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
