Do you feel as though you are alone in handling some of the challenges that life has put in front of you? Anxiety and depression can immobilize us, leaving us feeling a loss of control and sometimes we just can't make things better on our own. My training and 20+ years of experience prepared me to work with people of all cultures, ethnic backgrounds. I want to understand not only who you are as a person, but also how your background and experiences shape your life.

CBT ( Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), Exposure Therapy, and EMDR are well-researched, highly effective treatment modalities used to help reduce the symptoms of anxiety, panic, or unresolved trauma memories.
My preferred style of therapy is short-term, skills-based, solution focused therapy. Teaching you how to manage anxiety is a major part of therapy and developing skills will be a significant part of our work together. I have extensive training in EMDR and use it often to help clients resolve distressing memories or lingering symptoms of trauma. Clients have had a high success rate of relieving symptoms using EMDR both in person and via Telehealth. During the months of November-April, sessions are offered via Telehealth ONLY.

I am certified in TF- CBT , which is extremely effective in treating youth who have experienced trauma (single incident or complex trama).
Your child deserves prompt, consistent, and quality services. If you feel like your child is just another number when they've tried therapy before, I commit to building that relationship with them. Since 2003, I have strived to do what it takes to help the kids in our community. You and your child pick the goals, and I will give empathetic and clear guidance. An exceptionally non-judgmental attitude and a healthy sense of humor are the foundation of what makes me successful in working with difficult children and their families.

I am trained and experienced in several trauma-responsive modalities, including TF- CBT , ACT, and IFS (among others).
It's safe to say at some point in our life we will feel overwhelmed, stuck, or maybe that things are out of our control. We may be caught up in a difficult situation, or find ourselves worrying all the time. We may do certain things to check out or de-stress that over time become unhelpful. Maybe we experienced a traumatic event, or chronic stress, and our stress-response system is always set to "on" or "hyperdrive," and we just can't calm down. People of every age experience stress and it shows up in many ways. I am honored to be able to hold space with my clients as they show up to seek answers, healing, connection, and growth.

I rely strongly on evidence-based practices including Dialectical Behavior Therapy and CBT -based therapy.
The struggles that bring people in therapy are myriad and each person’s situation is unique. As such, my treatment philosophy is that our work together should be driven by your goals and informed by your strengths. I look forward to getting to know you and helping you navigate any of the challenges you carry with you. Although I am a big proponent of evidence-based treatments, I believe the core of any good therapeutic experience is a strong relationship and I hope to accomplish this through warmth, humor, and transparency.

You are tired, can’t sleep well, are gaining weight and sex (what is that?). You lost your mojo and I’m here to help you get it back. Remember when you were a complete badass? You know what I’m talking about! You made juggling it all seem effortless. Your motto was ‘you only live once’. But not anymore. he truth is, you are not alone. The rates of anxiety & depression are through the roof! Lack of energy is met with prescription medication that doesn't work.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) Therapists
Cognitive-behavioral therapy stresses the role of thinking in how we feel and what we do. It is based on the belief that thoughts, rather than people or events, cause our negative feelings. The therapist assists the client in identifying, testing the reality of, and correcting dysfunctional beliefs underlying his or her thinking. The therapist then helps the client modify those thoughts and the behaviors that flow from them. CBT is a structured collaboration between therapist and client and often calls for homework assignments.
