To be human is to be fundamentally imperfect. There is no script for us to follow: decisions can be difficult, the unexpected happens, societal pressures are everywhere. It is natural to feel confused and powerless at times. But for some of us these feelings are overwhelming and can persist for weeks, months, and years. When you feel stuck, are dwelling on the past, unable to see any hope for the future, and experiencing little satisfaction from your day to day life, know that you are not alone.

I help transform anxiety, fear, and stress into clarity, confidence and self- acceptance.
You are busy, hardworking, and known to be capable. On the outside, you’ve got it together but on the inside you’re wondering how to keep your head above water. Stress, anxiety, or distress from obsessive-compulsive (OCD) disorder is too much to take on alone. You're saying "yes" more than you should and losing track of who you are while you succeed in making things ok for everyone else. You have a mind that you can’t turn off and you could really use a moment of peace. Emotions are coming up and out at times you didn't plan. It's hard to be joyful because you wonder, "when is the other shoe going to drop?" Something’s got to give.

I currently offer individual therapy to clients in both Maine and Wisconsin. Many clients I work with carry day to day stress and anxiety that is rooted in trauma. We tend to think of trauma as one big moment, but it can also be a culmination of moments leading to a negative narrative of the self and a shift in the way we see and interact in the world. My goal is to teach new skills that will help promote control over ones thoughts, feelings and behaviors that can improve health and happiness across multiple settings- emotionally, psychosomatically, in families or relationships and other areas of life.

I incorporate aspects of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
I have a strong focus on adult ADHD, burnout, perfectionism and dealing with a loud inner critic. The "vibe" would be warm and understanding, with a touch of humor and millennial burnout. Whether it is looking to the past for understanding, finding ways to connect to the present, or cultivating hope for the future, I make sure to provide an authentic, warm and supportive space for clients to improve their connection to themselves and the world around them. I consider myself an ally for the LGBTQIA+ community and neurodivergent friendly.

I use CBT, DBT, and ACT within a trauma-informed, relational approach.
You can be insightful, self-aware, and still feel stuck in the same patterns. I work with adults who understand themselves on some level but can’t seem to shift emotional overwhelm, self-doubt, or relationship dynamics. I often see underlying shame driving these patterns. In our work, we focus not just on understanding why, but what actually needs to change. If you’re ready for therapy that moves beyond insight into real movement, this may be a good fit.

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy ( ACT), and relational approaches.
Thoughtful, capable adults who are tired of living in their heads. On the outside, things look fine. Inside, anxiety, overthinking, and pressure to get it right take a toll. They may be navigating a life transition or feeling stuck in patterns they can’t quite name. They don’t want to be fixed — they want clarity, steadiness, and a way to move forward without constantly fighting themselves.

My approach to therapy is client-centered: clients are the experts on their lives and determine the direction and depth of therapy. Through a strengths-based and solutions-focused lens, I draw on multiple treatment modalities to guide clients in identifying strengths and developing treatment plans that accomplish their goals.

My approach integrates psychodynamic, systemic, narrative, DBT, and ACT perspectives.
You may look like you're holding everything together on the outside, but internally you're exhausted. Maybe you feel stuck in the same relationship patterns, feel disconnected from yourself, struggle with anxiety, or are navigating a major life transition. I work with teens and adults who want more than temporary coping strategies. Together, we'll explore the patterns, beliefs, and experiences that have shaped the way you relate to yourself and others. My goal is to help you better understand your emotions, build self-trust, and create meaningful change that aligns with the person you want to become.

Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapists
How does acceptance and commitment therapy work?
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy encourages a person to listen to their self-talk. A person’s inner dialog can be indicative of how they treat themselves. ACT also encourages self-compassion; this can lead to a better understanding of negative thought patterns and emotional states. This understanding can then lead the individual to needed behavior change.

What are the goals of acceptance and commitment therapy?
The goal of acceptance and commitment is to expand a person’s psychological flexibility, a trait that encourages an individual to live in the present moment and to accept all their thoughts, feelings, and emotions, even ones that are difficult such as sadness and anxiety. In ACT, this acceptance is congruent with the individual’s values and beliefs.

Does acceptance and commitment therapy work for depression?
Acceptance and commitment therapy is effective for depression because it allows the individual to view their discomfort and suffering differently. Depressive feelings about relationship heartaches, for example, are a part of life. A despondent person learns to let go of their struggles and instead view their painful thoughts and feelings with compassion. This will lead the individual toward positive change.

How long are people typically in acceptance and commitment therapy?
A typical acceptance and commitment therapy session is 50 minutes long with one session per week. Treatment for common problems such as anxiety, depression, or relationship difficulties can last between eight weeks to four months. However, more severe cases may require more than one session a week and/or a longer time frame for treatment.
