I specialize in supporting women as they navigate self esteem , stress and relationships.
Are you struggling with prioritizing yourself without feeling guilty? Do you put yourself last on you feel like you are constantly prioritizing the needs of others over your own? Your mood frequently fluctuates and you just can’t seem to keep it stable? You’ve read self help books, watched Tiktoks and talked to your friends yet you haven’t been able to shake the feelings you have. Beginning therapy can often be difficult and may carry a host of fears, uncertainties, and challenges. I believe that it can also be a life changing journey that can help explore those difficult pieces and peel those layers that have kept us from being our authentic selves. My clients are often young adults, parents, those starting a new phase in their life, or anyone navigating the process of individuation and creating change. My clients are often looking to create healthy boundaries and relationships with themselves and others. Many are healing from past trauma, toxic relationships, or entering a new phase in life.

We'll work towards achieving greater self awareness, self esteem and confidence.
Many of our personal, emotional and relationship problems are simply caused by a lack of self awareness, adapting to new situations and negative thinking patterns. Healthier ways of thinking and having greater self awareness helps work through these day to day challenges. We have great strengths and gifts that are not always easy to notice or understand at first. Personal growth, developing coping strategies, improving communication and making positive life changes can enormously help resolve these issues. I hope to help you develop the best version of yourself.

Through an individualized and holistic approach to treatment, I use meaningful occupations, play, sensory activities and mindfulness to promote fine motor skills, critical thinking skills, sensory regulation, increase attention and concentration, and build a level of confidence and self esteem .
A child’s occupation is to play and socialize with same aged peers. A child’s ability to fully engage in play or socialize with others at his/her highest level of functioning can be challenging due to factors such as sensory processing, behavioral, and mental health limitations. Participation in meaningful occupations is vital to mental health and well-being. As an Occupational Therapist, I provide comprehensive services which include an evaluation of the child’s current skill set to assess age appropriate development in the areas of fine/gross motor skills, cognition and executive functioning, life skills, and sensory modulation.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
