With several years of experience I’ve supported women as they navigated self esteem issues, anxiety, stress and improving strained relationships.
It’s easy to feel stressed and worried when you’re overwhelmed by guilt, unsure of who you are anymore, and you are constantly battling fluctuating emotions. Even though you've tried things like self-help books, TikToks, or talking to friends, it feels like nothing is really helping. Everyday feels overwhelming and at times you just want to escape. It’s important to know that these feelings don’t mean you’ve failed. They’re signals that something deeper needs attention and care.

I can help with issues related to anxiety, depression, daily stress, self esteem, post traumatic stress, family systems, adolescence, and relationship conflict.
During this time, human connection is as important as ever. I believe that as human beings, we can find our balance when we are provided with a safe, supportive, growth-promoting environment. When we put in purposeful work and develop a helpful skill set, we are able to move towards our values. I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach that is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment are an integral component of my philosophy. I work with individuals who are ready to make change in their lives.

I specialize in helping driven young adults manage anxiety, improve sports performance, and gain self esteem.
You want to appear successful and like you have it “all together,” but deep down, you are struggling to manage your overthinking, perform when it counts, or feel like you’re “enough." Maybe you work hard but still don’t get the results you are striving for. When this happens, you say mean things to yourself you would NEVER say to a friend. Or, you worry about something you said or did long after everyone else has forgotten about it. Furthermore, you aren’t always sure how you really feel or what to do with your emotions. You may question why things are so difficult when it seems like everyone else gets through life more easily.

I specialize in working with clients who may be struggling with low- self esteem, anxiety, or depression related to recent changes, difficult relationships, or adverse childhood experiences.
Are you “going through the motions”? Are past experiences on replay? Are you feeling less confident/increasingly anxious? Do you struggle to connect with a sense of self and/or purpose? Life’s stressors and changes can oftentimes cause emotional disruption, leading to increased sadness, anxiety, and a loss of identity. When this occurs it is important to engage in a therapeutic process geared toward increasing your confidence in yourself, your direction, and your values. Increased clarity, a sense of purpose, and self confidence will enable you to feel better about how you show up to interactions and experiences, and for yourself.

Making impactful, long-lasting change can be difficult. I understand the importance of wanting to find that immediate relief, as well as identifying and treating the root of the problem. An essential part of our work is exploring the past and making connections between the past and present. I enjoy getting to know my clients as individuals, assisting them in their journey of learning about themselves, and helping them learn the skills they need to live a more meaningful life.

I believe our life experiences shape who we are and determine how we interpret and respond to the world around us. Sometimes, our experiences can leave us feeling isolated, anxious, or unworthy. Life can feel hard and seeking help can feel scary. You are not alone.

Self Esteem Therapists

When should a person seek therapy for low self-esteem?

When self-esteem problems begin to disrupt the healthy daily functioning of an individual, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If a person finds that they are not engaging with friends for fear of being judged, not completing work assignments because they don’t think they’re capable, or not finding romantic love because they don’t feel they’re worthy of it, a therapist may be able to help.

What are the signs of low self-esteem?

Low self-esteem is a common issue that can affect a person's mental and emotional well-being. Some common signs of low self-esteem include negative self-talk, perfectionism, social anxiety, difficulty making decisions, an inability to set boundaries, people-pleasing, and others. A lack of belief in oneself or one’s abilities and a feeling of not being worthy or deserving underlie most of these characteristics.

What causes low self-esteem?

Feelings of low self-worth can begin in childhood or adulthood. Being raised by a highly critical parent or growing up feeling constant disapproval can stay with a person well into adulthood. Specific issues in adulthood may also be a cause of low self-esteem. An unhappy relationship, a dysfunctional work or school experience can impact a person’s feelings of self-worth.

How can therapy improve self-esteem?

Therapists can help identify negative thought patterns that keep the client stuck in a loop of destructive self-talk and develop coping skills to change the voice in their head. A therapist can help with goal-setting, so that clients are better able to stay on task and build confidence from successfully completing work they’re proud of. Coaching a client on how to better communicate can improve relationships. These skills can result in someone with low self-esteem feeling empowered and living with less fear.
