I support you in navigating maternal mental health and parenting.
Finding the right therapist can feel overwhelming, especially if you've been carrying a lot for a long time. I believe therapy should be a place where you feel safe, respected, and genuinely understood. Imagine: walking into a space, taking a deep breath and sinking into a couch to talk about what is on your mind with no fear of judgment. Together, we slow things down and get curious about what your nervous system has learned, and how we can gently support it towards healing.

I specialize in helping overwhelmed parents slow things down, understand what’s happening underneath the surface, and reconnect with themselves.
You want to feel calm, patient, and in control—but instead you’re overwhelmed, snapping more than you want to, and wondering why everything feels so hard. You wake up already exhausted, your mind racing before the day even starts. You’re juggling kids, home, and work, and it never feels like enough. Maybe you’ve yelled in a way that scared you or found yourself hiding in the bathroom just trying to breathe. The guilt hits hard. At night, you replay the day, wondering what’s wrong. You love your kids deeply—but feel like you’ve lost yourself in the process.

Most of the individuals I see are working through life transitions, such as young adult life changes, career changes, and parenting challenges.
My approach to therapy is collaborative: you are the expert in your life, I am the expert in mental wellness, and together we can forge a path forward into a life that is peaceful and meaningful for you. I am passionate about breaking intergenerational trauma and helping people build peaceful families. Families can look like everything from one adult and their beloved yet temperamental Iguana, Harold, to a couple with ten children and six in-laws living in one home. Don't worry if right now your family feels like a total mess. Remember: even a dumpster fire can provide a cleansing flame.

Hi, if you're like many of my clients, you're hoping to find a therapist who has worked with your kind of worries before, will listen without passing judgement and can offer a safe place to process as well as get some concrete tools to help you feel better. My clients often describe struggling with communication or compromise in relationships, hurting from a big loss, frustration with their kid's problems, feeling anxious, or having a hard time at work. Most of my clients want a therapist who is warm, authentic, can explain the "why" behind their "what" and is willing to engage, not just observe.

For the past 20 years, I have worked with families, couples, adults, and adolescents. Using cognitive-behavioral theory with narrative techniques, I help empower clients to explore areas within their lives that present challenges and inhibit change, and assist them with finding solutions that will work for them. However, I also believe that the therapeutic relationship is a vital component within any program, which means that I believe that any work needs to be collaborative between myself and my clients. I am certified to deliver trauma-focused treatments as well as providing services to help manage stress and anxiety.

Parenting Therapists
What does therapy for parenting look like?
Therapists may work with parents individually, together, or include the whole family to find solutions for the problems a parent faces. Many parent-based therapies work on a parent’s relationship with their children, problem-solving within the family, and analysis of family dynamics. Therapy conducted remotely by video may be helpful in allowing a therapist to observe how families interact in their own homes.

When should a parent seek therapy?
When behavioral problems begin to disrupt the healthy functioning of a family, it may be a good time to look into therapy. If parents find that children are acting out in school, have started using drugs or alcohol, have developed eating disorders, or other similar red flags, a therapist may be able to help.

How long does therapy take for parenting problems?
Depending on the severity of a family’s challenges and the type of treatment utilized, therapy for parenting can last from weeks to months. Cognitive behavioral therapy is a pragmatic therapy type that can be brief, most often ranging from between 5 and 20 sessions. Structural family therapy, which inspects family dynamics, often takes several months. Parent-child interaction therapy is typically shorter-term, lasting between 10 and 20 sessions. For any therapy, the duration will depend on the progress made and results realized.

Can therapy help parents dealing with burnout or stress?
Parenting is difficult. Parents may dismiss or conceal feelings of exhaustion, overwhelm, or escape ideation—imagining withdrawing from their parental obligations altogether. but left unattended, these feelings can have negative effects on the whole family. A therapist can help parents work on the skills they might need to better cope with the burdens of parenting and help them be the best parents they can be.
