I believe that the most important factor when it comes to healing and positive outcomes for people seeking therapy is the relationship between the client and their therapist. My goal is to help you to grow and learn in this relationship, while at the same time ensuring you feel safe while doing so. All I ask is that you show up and do the work, even when the work is hard and heart-wrenching. I want you to strive to better understand yourself by being vulnerable, open, and honest, and I can promise to do the same.

I love life even when it is difficult, uncertain, and unpredictable. I experience it as a precious gift and live in constant awe of the quiet miracle of existence. I believe in hope, believe in kindness and compassion, and hold an essentially optimistic view of the human spirit. As a practicing professional, I am continually moved by the beauty and depth of psychotherapy. The psyche remains a mystery that can never be fully captured, and yet it endlessly inspires me. For me, psychotherapy is not only a profession—it is a philosophy, a spiritual path, and a way of living with attention, humility, and devotion to inner truth.

I am passionate about working with adults and couples experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, addictions, relationship issues, self-esteem, stress, and life transitions.
Do past experiences continue to shape how you see yourself or your relationships? Many people carry trauma that shows up in repeated relationship patterns or during difficult life transitions. I help adults process and heal trauma through EMDR, explore relational dynamics, and move through life changes with greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.

Living Well Holistically L.L.C.
Licensed Professional Counselor, MS, LPC
Milwaukee, WI 53224
Right now, is the time to give ourselves permission to make changes that allow us to have control over our journey. As a Black woman & BIPOC therapist I am deeply passionate about treating mental health holistically. The mind, body, and spirit work together to bring fulfillment, but when the balance is off, things just don't feel right. Traumatic and challenging experiences in our lives can affect our nervous system, rendering us vulnerable, confused and at times stuck/frozen in fight and or flight responses to life. I personally know how beneficial integrating spiritual, mental, and physical health is to the healing process.

I work with emerging adults, couples, parents, and men who want more clarity, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of confidence.
If you’re hesitant to start therapy, you’re not alone. Even when I first stepped into this field, I began to understand how difficult it can feel to open up and ask for support. My goal is to help make the process feel less intimidating, more comfortable, and maybe even include a little humor along the way. Whether you're navigating early adulthood, the pressures that can come with being a man today, relationship challenges, or the demands of parenting, life can feel heavy and overwhelming. Reach out to me, and I’d be glad to help walk you through the process.

Life has a way of shifting beneath us—through illness, loss, separation, or new beginnings like parenthood—and suddenly, we can feel untethered from who we are. These transitions can awaken buried pain or trauma that feels overwhelming to face alone. If you’re struggling to find your footing or yearning to reconnect with yourself, you don’t have to navigate that alone. I offer a safe, creative space to explore your story, reconnect with meaning, and begin the process of healing and integration through art and mindfulness-based therapy.

FAQ - Marriage Counseling
What issues does marriage counseling help with?
Marriage counseling can address common relationship concerns, including ongoing conflict, communication challenges, emotional distance, or difficulty making decisions together. It may also be helpful for couples who are not currently experiencing major problems but want to prepare for future life changes. For more specific concerns affecting one individual in the relationship, such as trauma, depression, or significant substance use concerns, individual therapy may be more appropriate than marriage counseling.

When is the right time to start marriage counseling?
There is no single “right” time to start marriage counseling, but certain signs may suggest that counseling could be helpful. For example, a couple may benefit from counseling if many conversations end in conflict, if negative interactions are becoming more frequent, or if relationship stress is affecting other areas of life, such as sleep, work, parenting, or friendships. Some couples also seek counseling proactively. Premarital counseling, for instance, allows couples to discuss communication styles, finances, family dynamics, and future goals before getting married. Other couples may start counseling before a major life change, such as becoming parents, relocating, or navigating a stressful career transition.

Is marriage counseling effective if only one partner wants to go?
Marriage counseling may still help even if one partner is more hesitant to attend, as long as both people are ultimately willing to participate in sessions. Once counseling is underway, the more hesitant partner may become more open to sessions that can strengthen the relationship and build coping skills and communication strategies. If one partner refuses to attend, individual therapy may still help the other partner understand their needs, set boundaries, and decide how to approach the relationship.

Is online marriage counseling as effective as in-person?
There are differing opinions on the best format for marriage counseling. While some studies show that online marriage counseling can be as effective as in-person counseling, some argue that in-person counseling is more effective because it allows the therapist to better pick up on context and body language cues. In addition, in-person counseling may be a better fit for couples who are working through high-conflict issues. Ultimately, the “best” format depends on the couple’s specific needs and concerns.

What is faith-based marriage counseling and how is it different?
Faith-based marriage counseling incorporates a couple’s religious or spiritual beliefs into counseling. It may be a good fit for couples who want to discuss their relationship, values, and marriage within the context of their faith. For example, Christian marriage counseling may appeal to couples who want a counselor familiar with Christian beliefs about marriage. Other forms of faith-based counseling may incorporate Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, or other religious perspectives into sessions.

How much does marriage counseling cost and is it covered by insurance?
Marriage counseling often costs $150 to $250 or more per session, depending on location, therapist experience, session length, and practice setting. Marriage counseling is typically not covered by insurance unless it is considered medically necessary and connected to a diagnosable mental health condition. Lower-cost options may be available. For instance, some therapists offer sliding scale fees for lower-income clients, and community clinics may offer counseling at a discounted rate.
