The good traits of a therapist include the ability to empathize with an individual's need or problem. I believe possessing effective listening skill is number one in providing a supportive nonjudgmental space for clients. I have been providing counseling and
coaching
services for many years and have yet to tire of the opportunity to connect with individuals on a soulful level. I begin my day asking how I can be of maximum service to God and others.

Whether you're a college student trying to make sense of your world, a twenty-something struggling to figure out your
life
, or simply a woman searching to find/rediscover her voice, I can help.
You're not crazy. You make sense. I've found these words to be very powerful in my 25 years of clinical experience. Everyone has pain; all of us have gone through something. You want to know that what you are experiencing can be understood and figured out. You want some relief. As human beings, sometimes we look for relief in ways that are self-defeating or not super helpful in the long run. Whatever your experiences or current struggles, my role is to help you find your way through it. I offer online therapy as well as
life coaching
. (Check out my links to learn more about the difference.) You’re not crazy; you make sense.

When things go wrong in
life
, we can get knocked off center, struggle to stay afloat, or lose our way. Sometimes we may feel we've moved on from
life
's hardships, but negative reactions and patterns of thinking, feeling, and reacting continue to reel us back again and again, making the present feel like an ongoing struggle. Our minds, bodies, and nervous systems are remembering the memories of distressing
life
events, even when we don't consciously think of them every day. We get stuck in anxiety and depression- symptoms of inadequately processed, stuck distress of our lives, both past and present.

I know that trying to cope with added pressures in
life
while working our way out of a pandemic and into inflation can create a lot of anxiety and depressive symptoms. The constraints of the current issues in our country and around us can feel lonely, strenuous, and persistent. What is often overlooked is the fear, guilt, loss, anger, and sadness associated with the changes it has brought to your
life
and those around you. Attending counseling can be an essential aspect of your healthcare strategy.

Normal is a setting on a dryer. We are all unique and valid individuals with vast minds. We all have different situations and I believe in using those pieces to heal and build strength. While I specialize in trauma, addiction, and mood, our struggles are usually not that one note or simple. I focus on all aspects of who you and where you want to be, building a strong relationship based on empathy, trust and non judgement.
Life
is rough, we lose sight of our way, stop seeing the beauty, forget who we are, feel stuck or changed. It takes courage to be vulnerable and reality is we are imperfectly perfect.

It’s time to start living the
life
you deserve.
You feel burdened, like you’re carrying a refrigerator on your back through a land mine- almost anything or anyone could set you off. You hoped
Life
would be more peaceful, but as time goes on, your anxiety remains deep. Stress plants itself in your bones and reverberates through your whole body. It’s the same, no matter what you try. The voice of failure reverberates in your head. “You won’t make it, so why even try?” It all feels so hopeless.

I also have experience working with anxiety, depression, exploring sexuality and gender identity, trauma work, significant
life
changes, and supporting individuals from the polyam, LGBTQIA+, and kink communities.
I believe it is my role as a therapist to help support you in facilitating change in a nonjudgmental environment that offers accountability. We are a therapeutic team - you being the expert of your own experience and me being a sounding board for thoughts, feelings, and emotions. My therapeutic approach combines person centered therapy with aspects of cognitive behavioral (CBT), solutions focused, and dialectical-behavioral (DBT) therapies. This means we will implement skills for emotion regulation, communication, and facing anxiety while also making space to talk about your experiences.

Life Coaching Therapists
What can I expect from life coaching?
Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.
Can a life coach help treat anxiety?
Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.
Can life coaching be done online?
Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.
How long does life coaching last?
Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
