I help adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, divorce, and other life transitions or challenges.
My therapeutic approach is tailored to each client's needs. Many times, clients start therapy in crisis mode and just need to vent and be heard. During the first session or two, I like to actively listen, acknowledge what you are experiencing, and offer gentle, non-judgmental validation.

Whether feeling stagnant personally, professionally, relationally, spiritually or in other areas of your life, I work with people to help them navigate the obstacles, maximize the opportunities and most importantly grow into an even better version of themselves!
I offer clients first and foremost a listening ear without judgment. Understanding the client already has many of the answers they seek, my role is to facilitate a thought-provoking conversation where those answers are able to surface and a growth plan is then able to be created and executed. The S+EI Profile is also an option for clients.

At the same time, I do challenge clients gently to consider other options and how their views and life choices affect them and those they care about.
As a LGBTQ-friendly, STAR-trained military provider, an Internal Family Systems, EFT practitioner & an A-B-C relaxation & meditation trainer, I am uniquely qualified to help you learn to cope with grief, anxiety, PTSD, & women's issues. My approach is eclectic, using interventions from a broad base of solidly grounded, accepted theoretical orientations. Most of my clients are struggling with symptoms of PTSD, Chronic Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and/or symptoms of Depression. I work collaboratively with clients to guide them in setting their therapy goals, then we set out to realize those desires.

My style of doing therapy is to carefully listen to you and to ask questions so that both you and I can develop a deep understanding of what is bothering you and how you want to improve/change your life.
Hello, my name is Lynet Uttal, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. When working together, my hope is that you will become more comfortable with yourself. I focus on what is making you uncomfortable and using person-centered talk therapy and reality therapy, we work on identifying understandings and changes to improve your comfort with yourself. I work with adults, especially those addressing bicultural issues and dealing with transitions in their lives. In the first session, you get a chance to see if I feel all right to you and to ask me personal questions to see if I'm the right person for you to share yourself with.

I'm an eccentric, nerdy, socially awkward member of the LGBTQIA+ community in northern Wisconsin, who became a therapist to help people in the same way that other therapists helped me in life.
Since I only provide services through telehealth/online platforms, I do require my clients to be at least 12 years of age simply because it can be challenging to hold the attention of younger children through online therapy.

Life Coaching Therapists

What can I expect from life coaching?

Clients and coaches will typically start by identifying the problem area(s) that the client hopes to address—then, the coach will help the client brainstorm potential solutions and explore concrete techniques to help the client attain their goals. Coaching is typically short-term and focused on finding solutions in the here and now, rather than exploring a client’s past. In addition to strategies aimed at the client’s specific concerns, coaches may encourage general stress management techniques such as meditation.

Can a life coach help treat anxiety?

Because the majority of life coaches are not licensed clinicians, they are not qualified to diagnose or treat anxiety. Anyone struggling with anxiety or another mental health condition should seek help from a licensed mental health practitioner. However, some coaching clients who struggle with subclinical anxiety report that working with their coach on other problems—such as career dissatisfaction or unhealthy habits—has a positive effect on their anxiety.

Can life coaching be done online?

Yes. While life coaching often happens in person, many coaches conduct sessions over the phone or via online platforms such as Zoom or Skype. Because life coaches are not subject to local licensing regulations in the same way that therapists are, they are able to see clients who live in other locations.

How long does life coaching last?

Life coaching tends to be a shorter-term process than therapy, though it does not always unfold over a specific period of time and is instead based on the coach’s or the client’s preferences. Coaching often takes place over three to 12 months but may be shorter or longer if necessary.
