My practice utilizes a mixture of techniques including talk therapy, art therapy, humor,
integrative
writing, creative mindfulness and sensory to assist in this process.
Normal is a setting on a dryer. We are all unique and valid individuals with vast minds. We all have different situations and I believe in using those pieces to heal and build strength. While I specialize in trauma, addiction, and mood, our struggles are usually not that one note or simple. I focus on all aspects of who you and where you want to be, building a strong relationship based on empathy, trust and non judgement. Life is rough, we lose sight of our way, stop seeing the beauty, forget who we are, feel stuck or changed. It takes courage to be vulnerable and reality is we are imperfectly perfect.

My therapeutic approach is very
integrative
and based on what the client's goals are and their specific needs.
Let's be honest...Life gets difficult and we find ourselves needing a confidential and safe environment to begin to effectively navigate through life's challenges. Why not choose therapy! I view the counselor and client relationship as a partnership where we work together to reach your personal goals. I believe in creating an environment where clients feel safe and comfortable enough to share and explore their thoughts and feelings. I work with children, adolescents, young adults and their families to develop better coping skills to manage issues that may affect their daily functioning.

I use an
integrative
approach, encouraging you to be more compassionate and kind to yourself, while fusing empowerment through feminist/multicultural/social justice modes, and supporting your authentic self to shine.
We all have things we like in our lives and things we'd like to change for the better. This may mean improving relationships, a desire to improve mood, and/or addressing health issues or social issues impeding on one's ability to have the life they want. We are all doing the best we can, but often we want something more out of life, and we need some help to bring this to fruition. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to identify what is going well and what might need change. It can also facilitate new effective ways of being.

I approach counseling through an
integrative
lens that incorporates the mind/body connection, expressive therapy approaches, mindfulness, and evidence based techniques.
Do you find yourself stressed managing all that life throws your way? The worry, overwhelm, and panic feels never ending. The stress may be from external or internal pressure, a life transition, or the death of a loved one. On the outside you look like you have it all together but on the inside you're crumbling; not feeling like you. Living between these two worlds is exhausting and all you want is a moment of relief. In counseling we will work together to create lifelong change so that getting through the day is less exhausting and more energizing.

As a specialist in
Integrative
Mental Health, my approach is holistic.
Why spend your energy trying to cope with what is, when you could use it to create what you really want? I love working with people who are motivated to make significant life change, even if they don't know where or how to begin! I focus on teaching clients to separate thoughts from feelings, tap into their inner core of intuitive awareness, and use their own inner guidance system -- to move toward their goals, and away from old patterns and obstacles to growth. Along the way, we bring in interesting discussions, good books, homework, mindfulness exercises, and of course, some humor!

Hello! For many, starting therapy can be intimidating for a variety of reasons. I strive to ease the anxiety surrounding this process by establishing a solid therapeutic relationship with each of my clients from the very beginning. By using approaches that promote an environment of safety and trust, I hope to help destigmatize the idea of “going to counseling” and foster healing through these relationships. Each session is tailored to meet each client's specific needs using
integrative
treatment.

I provide an
integrative
approach to counseling, identifying evidenced-based treatment interventions that uniquely cater to each individual’s presenting symptoms.
I’m a licensed counselor with a desire to help others discover the intrinsic beauty they bring to the world. Through a deep exploration of each individual’s unique psychosocial history and presenting circumstances, we collaboratively determine the evidenced-based treatment interventions that best cater to the client. I find value in incorporating a multi-systemic framework, helping clients identify how their various systems (family, friends, work, school, and community) influence and contribute to presenting symptoms. I also welcome the opportunity to integrate spiritual faith into sessions to the extent that one is comfortable.

My therapeutic approach is
integrative
, focused on whole-person wellness.
I am honored to be a person with whom friends, colleagues and clients have trusted to share their stories and trials and triumphs of life. I believe that our shared connections, compassion and authenticity are precious gifts to our health and wellness. The ups and downs of life often get in the way of becoming our best selves. I love working with clients who are struggling to find that voice of authenticity that’s been hidden by loneliness, comparing themselves to an impossible ideal, or even years of trauma and abuse. Together, we’ll work in collaboration, incorporating connection to mind and body to reclaim a sense of wholeness.

What is integrative therapy?
Integrative therapy is a type of therapy that combines ideas and techniques from different therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the individual client. By merging elements of different treatments, an integrative therapist aims to offer a more flexible approach than those who practice just one type of therapy.
How does integrative therapy work?
Integrative therapy approaches a client’s mental, physical, and emotional health in a holistic way to discover the sources of their unhealthy behavior patterns or other challenges and considers the approach most likely to lead to improvement. Among the techniques an integrative therapist may practice are cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, EMDR, mindfulness, art or music therapy, psychodynamic therapy, breathwork, family systems therapy, gestalt therapy, and trauma-informed therapy. An integrative therapist regularly evaluates the client’s progress and is prepared to pivot to a different approach if progress stalls.
How long does integrative therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for integrative therapy; people who find they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that spurred them to seek treatment. New patients should understand that it may take some time for a therapist to land on a treatment approach that best meets their needs, but once they do, they should expect sessions to extend for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
How effective is integrative therapy?
There are hundreds of types of talk therapy, and research shows that while they vary in form, goals, and frequency, many if not all can produce similarly successful outcomes. But a single approach does not always deliver the greatest, or speediest, benefit, and so even therapists primarily trained in one model will use tools, language, techniques, or exercises from others to shape an effective treatment plan.
