Perhaps your grief or emotional pain feels overwhelming—like it might consume you at times.
My clients often come to me seeking a therapist who is warm, open, and truly listens—someone who creates a safe space to show up just as they are. I believe therapy should feel like a refuge, a place where you can explore your experiences without judgment and begin to reconnect with your sense of self.

As a therapist, I believe in the saying, “you can’t pour from an empty cup.” My role is to help you explore areas of concern, develop coping skills, and gain insight about yourself. I help teens and adults move through grief, anxiety, trauma, and big life transitions with practical skills and steady support.
Your needs will drive our plan. I blend cognitive-behavioral tools with a warm, person-centered style so sessions feel both practical and compassionate. We’ll slow down enough to notice what’s happening: thoughts, emotions, body cues, then build coping skills you can use between sessions. I work from a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens.

Life has a way of shifting beneath us—through illness, loss, separation, or new beginnings like parenthood—and suddenly, we can feel untethered from who we are.
I specialize in trauma recovery through art therapy and EMDR. Art-making accesses the parts of the brain beyond words—where memories and emotions live—and supports transformation and resilience. This holistic, mindful approach can reduce PTSD symptoms, foster self-awareness, and gently reshape painful experiences. No artistic skill is required.

My work focuses on tackling anxiety, depression, grief, distorted thinking patterns
We all deserve the chance to live a fulfilling, balanced life. Just as we tend to our physical well-being, our mental and emotional health deserves our attention and care. In a world that often prioritizes perfection and productivity over personal well-being, it's important to remind ourselves that our mental health is a necessity. I will guide you to become more compassionate with yourself. It's about recognizing that it's okay to struggle, to make mistakes, and feel vulnerable.

Healing doesn’t have to happen alone. I am deeply committed to helping individuals heal from trauma, navigate stress, and build resilience rooted in self‑compassion. With years of experience supporting children, families, and educators, I bring a strong understanding of the emotional toll that high‑pressure environments can create and the strength it takes to seek support.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
