My goal as a therapist is to work collaboratively with clients to create meaningful change. I believe that complex intersections of identity shape our lived experiences, and I strive to create a therapeutic experience wherein clients feel seen, heard, and respected as unique individuals. I have experience working with young adults facing a variety of challenges pertaining to school, major life transitions, and mental health. I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, ADHD, adjustment disorder, grief, and low self-esteem. I currently work with adults of all ages.

Life can be a lot at times, and sometimes we (and our nervous system) need support. Living in survival mode for too long can quietly wear down your sense of safety, energy, and hope. I specialize in the impact of trauma, supporting people in healing old wounds while reconnecting them with their inner strengths. I also work with people navigating life’s heavy or challenging moments, including stress, burnout, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. My approach is about seeing you as a whole person and honoring how your relationships, culture, community, and the world around you shape your experience.

My ideal client is any young adult who feels challenged by life's current twist and turns or who is feeling stuck because they believe that they can't overcome the past. A person like this needs support, clarity, honesty and empathy. That client needs a place to cry, laugh, be angry and vent without the fear of being judged. This client would be able to develop goals that free them from the shackles that bind them mentally, physically and spiritually. They would be free to recreate new alliances with a faith or family that may have harmed or injured or even become more loving of a body that was violated.

We all need support, we all deserve support! I offer both art therapy and talk therapy, and often a blend of the two. I work from a strength-based, person-centered, and holistic approach. I also have experience working within a DBT framework. My goal is to support clients in gaining insight, skills, and confidence to navigate challenges and increase well-being. I enjoy helping clients connect with their intuition, build trust in themselves, and recognize their capacity to move forward—even when things feel uncertain.

An ideal client is a person that is open to working on their mental health concerns. One that is willing to engage with the therapist, build a report, make sacrifices, and take the necessary risk to get better.

You're the one people go to for support because you seem like you have it all together. Underneath, however, is a different story. You're barely hanging on. Everyday stressors are overwhelming you. Feeling depressed, hopeless, and anxious are your new norms. You may feel uncomfortable in your own skin and use substances or restrictions as a way to cope. You may feel fearful and stuck because of a traumatic experience. Humans are naturally resilient, but in an attempt to adapt we can fall into unhealthy cycles that keep us from realizing our potential. We aren't always equipped with the necessary skills to navigate life's challenges.

You’re navigating so much- relationships, expectations, career decisions, life pressures & all the other complexities of being human. Maybe part of you feels anxious or overwhelmed, while another part is exhausted from trying to keep everything together. You might even notice an inner critic that won’t let up, or a part that shuts down when things feel too intense. And still, there’s a part of you that wants something different- more ease, more clarity, more self-trust. Therapy can be a place where all of these parts are welcomed, understood, and supported.

We all deserve the chance to live a fulfilling, balanced life. Just as we tend to our physical well-being, our mental and emotional health deserves our attention and care. In a world that often prioritizes perfection and productivity over personal well-being, it's important to remind ourselves that our mental health is a necessity. I will guide you to become more compassionate with yourself. It's about recognizing that it's okay to struggle, to make mistakes, and feel vulnerable.

I believe that a person is more than what brings them into therapy. An individual has various interests, needs, intersecting identities, early experiences, and goals. Therefore, I value the therapeutic relationship, establishing a relationship built in collaboration and trust, so that each client has a safe space to explore their narratives, their values, and wellness. I mainly pulls from humanistic and cognitive behavioral approaches, offering a space of non-judgment as one examines thoughts, behaviors, and feelings; however, I aim to meet the client where they are at in their wellness journey.

I accept most major insurance plans and EAP for Cigna and Optum.
I support busy individuals who often put themselves last. Therapy with me is flexible, compassionate, and designed for real life-virtual sessions you can attend from wherever you are-even from a parked car during a work break. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you don’t have to handle it alone. We can work together to ease suffering and build a greater sense of balance. I promote clients increasing awareness of thoughts, emotions, and patterns, identifying stuck points, and practicing skills that foster confidence and relief.

Does insurance cover therapy, prescriptions and other behavioral health services?
In general, yes. Laws in the U.S. require insurers to cover essential behavioral health care at the same level as other health care services. Most health plans require a medical diagnosis and treatments that are evidence based and medically essential. This means that life coaching and alternative therapies are not covered, nor is therapy without a diagnosis. Call the number on the back or your insurance card or visit your insurance company's website to review your Summary of Benefits. If you have insurance through your employer, your Human Resources department may also be able to answer questions.

How much does therapy cost with insurance?
The cost of therapy depends on your region, how much training and experience your therapist has, and the type of treatment. The rate for talk therapy generally falls between $100 and $250. For a client seeing an in-network provider, the cost of therapy is often similar to the cost of other health care services. Clients pay co-pays and may need to satisfy a plan’s deductible before benefits kick in.

What is the difference between In-Network and Out-of-Network insurance coverage?
An in-network provider has contracted with an insurer to get paid directly for services, and to accept the insurer’s rate of compensation. Clients are responsible for deductibles and copays. If a therapist is out of network, that means that the client pays the therapist directly for services at the therapist’s regular fee. Out-of-Network providers often give clients a receipt so that they can file for partial reimbursement with their insurance company.

Is it difficult to find an In-Network therapist?
It is not unusual for therapists to limit the number of insurance patients in their practice, so it’s important to check in-network availability when you schedule your first appointment. In regions and times where therapy is in high demand it may take longer to get scheduled with an in-network therapist.

What is the difference between HMO and PPO insurance plans?
HMO health plans only cover in-network services, there is no reimbursement for out-of-network providers. PPO plans often cover both in- and out-of-network services, though the client may pay more for out-of-network services.

What is a Superbill?
A superbill is a receipt for therapy services. It provides all the information required by insurance companies to reimburse you for out-of-network services, including the diagnostic codes for your care, the amount paid, and the dates and duration of care.

Does insurance cover Online therapy?
Many therapists who shifted their practice to online therapy during the pandemic have kept that arrangement. And most insurers continue to cover telehealth services, with a few exceptions. Preventive care (such as an annual depression screening) is often required to be in-person to be covered, and some states require prescribers of controlled substances to see those patients in person.

Does insurance cover Group therapy?
Many insurance plans provide coverage for group therapy provided there is a medical diagnosis for group members, but there are some noteworthy exceptions. For example, Medicare does not always cover group therapy. Group therapy tends to cost less than individual therapy.

Does insurance cover Couples therapy?
Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of couples therapy because there is no medical diagnosis or medically necessary treatment. However, a few plans will offer a limited benefit, so it is still worth checking with your insurance company. Sometimes therapy is covered for a couple when one person has a diagnosis and another family member joins them for joint therapy, but it is considered therapy for the medical condition that includes a family member as a listener or helper, not couples counseling. Without insurance, most clients pay between $100-300 per 60-90 min session for couples therapy. Often clients can find classes or workshops that make it more affordable to work on their relationship. And some employers offer Employee Assistance Plans that help defray the cost of couples therapy.

What is an Employee Assistance Plan (EAP)?
Employee Assistance Plans are purchased by employers for the benefit of their employees. EAPs typically assist employees with referrals and may also provide the first few sessions of therapy free of charge, with the patient's regular health insurance kicking in after those initial sessions. EAP benefits often apply to all types of therapy without the need for a medical diagnosis, making it easier to access couples therapy, therapy for life transitions, and other non-medical counseling. Just as with standard health insurance, clients should always check that a provider accepts their EAP benefits before scheduling. Learn more about Insurance Coverage and Finding Affordable Therapy
