Sometimes it's hard to name exactly what's wrong, only that certain patterns keep showing up. Maybe this comes in your relationships, in the ways you respond to stress, or in the distance between how you feel and how you'd like to feel. If part of you senses that there is something deeper to explore, you may be in the right place. I enjoy working with adults navigating complex, developmental, and relational trauma, especially the early wounds that shape how you see yourself, attach to others, and move through the world.

I can help with issues related to anxiety, depression, daily stress, self esteem, post traumatic stress, family systems, adolescence, and relationship conflict.
During this time, human connection is as important as ever. I believe that as human beings, we can find our balance when we are provided with a safe, supportive, growth-promoting environment. When we put in purposeful work and develop a helpful skill set, we are able to move towards our values. I use a person-centered, strengths-based approach that is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment are an integral component of my philosophy. I work with individuals who are ready to make change in their lives.

I believe that the most important factor when it comes to healing and positive outcomes for people seeking therapy is the relationship between the client and their therapist. My goal is to help you to grow and learn in this relationship, while at the same time ensuring you feel safe while doing so. All I ask is that you show up and do the work, even when the work is hard and heart-wrenching. I want you to strive to better understand yourself by being vulnerable, open, and honest, and I can promise to do the same.

As a queer Filipino American therapist in my 30s, I understand how isolating it can feel to navigate identity, relationships, anxiety, and expectations without a safe space to talk things through. I was born in Los Angeles and moved to Milwaukee in 2020, and rebuilding community in a new city reminded me how important it is to feel seen, understood, and supported. My goal is to create a space where you can talk openly about what you’re going through without feeling judged or alone. I often work with people who identify as people-pleasers, caregivers, or peacemakers—those who tend to put others’ needs before their own.

I believe that it can also be a life changing journey that can help explore those difficult pieces and peel those layers that have kept us from being our authentic selves. My clients are often young adults, parents, those starting a new phase in their life, or anyone navigating the process of individuation and creating change. My clients are often looking to create healthy boundaries and relationships with themselves and others. Many are healing from past trauma, toxic relationships, or entering a new phase in life.

Family Therapy Therapists
What do family therapists do?
A family therapist facilitates the process of understanding and improving how a family functions. The therapist will help family members develop empathy for one another. They’ll seek to understand existing patterns, misunderstandings, and conflicts that arise, in order to help the family arrive at a realistic, unified understanding and develop the coping skills they need to build stronger relationships.

How long does therapy for families take to work?
Therapy manifests differently in every family; a common time frame is 12 weekly sessions, but some families may see improvement after just a few weeks. Families should discuss their goals with the therapist at the beginning of the process and periodically revisit those goals to assess their progress together.

How can you encourage a family member to attend family therapy?
You can encourage family members to attend therapy by expressing with both love and concern the challenges you see and explaining how a therapist could help the family navigate those challenges together. An outside perspective can help everyone feel heard, get on the same page, and develop new skills. If family members are still hesitant, it may be helpful to emphasize that family therapy is short-term—it won’t last forever.

Is therapy for families effective?
Family therapy can significantly improve family dynamics and relationships. Research suggests that family therapy can help individuals understand their role in the family, communicate and solve problems together, reduce conflict and draw boundaries when necessary, and develop coping skills for stressors, major life changes, and mental or physical illnesses within the family.
