My ideal client is someone who knows, deep down, that something has to shift. They may not have all the answers (yet), but they’re done dancing in circles — ready to break old patterns, call themselves out (with love), and lean into real, lasting change. Whether they’re 19 or 79, single and soul-searching or in a relationship that feels more like a roommate situation than a romance, they’re craving clarity, connection, and that click — the internal shift that changes everything. They’re open-minded but want grounded tools. They’re not here for fluff — they want the truth, even if it stings a little (or a lot).

The therapeutic process is one of endless discovery and self-empowerment. Seeking out help is a valiant first step in this personal journey to befriend yourself. Befriending yourself greatly opens the internal space to invite others in so that we might have fuller, richer, and more wholesome relationships with those we love and those we’ve yet to meet. If you seek to reconnect, or connect more deeply, with your inherent goodness, then please reach out. I am deeply excited by the prospect of being able to share this experience with you.

Many people appear “fine” on the outside while internally carrying chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, relationship strain, burnout, ADHD-related challenges, or unresolved trauma. Over time, survival mode can affect your nervous system, relationships, confidence, focus, and sense of peace. You are not broken. Often, your mind and body adapted the best way they could to prolonged stress, painful experiences, or emotional overload. I provide trauma-informed therapy for veterans, professionals, high-performing adults, and individuals seeking practical, human-centered support in a calm and emotionally safe environment.

My journey to becoming a therapist started after returning home from a combat deployment, experiencing a devastating divorce and years of readjustment difficulties. During these deeply personal experiences, I became aware of the hurt and the brokenness we all face and now have a deep desire to help others to overcome as I did. I am passionate about helping couples find reconciliation and negotiating relationship pitfalls. As well as working with clients to heal from past trauma, manage their anxiety/depression, regulate anger or learn to value themselves again. You don't have to face it alone, there is hope.

Are you an autistic or ADHD adult who’s spent years feeling “weird,” too much, or out of sync with others? Many of my clients are bright, thoughtful people who’ve learned to mask, overthink, or push through burnout just to keep up. You don’t need to be fixed — you need support that understands how your brain actually works. Most people come to therapy because they’re exhausted. They want relief from anxiety and shutdown cycles, fewer relationship misunderstandings, less shame, and a way to function without constant burnout. They want to unmask safely, trust themselves, and build a life that feels sustainable — not performative.

Taking that first step is often the most intimidating. I hope to make it easier. Whether you're navigating trauma, working through addiction, or facing a mandated assessment or evaluation, you're welcome here. My clients come from all walks of life. Some have never been to therapy before, while others have had poor experiences in therapy. And, so, while some clients are ready to dive in, others are cautious and unsure. Both are okay. I offer a free consultation for exactly those reasons: Peruse this profile and my website, and use the consultation to decide whether I might be a good fit for you.

I enjoy helping people work through their mental health challenges to build more satisfying lives. This happens through individual counseling as well as couple and/or family counseling. I also enjoy working with adolescent-aged children and often incorporate family therapy as part of the process. Let's face it, people sometimes just get stuck and need to figure out how to improve their lives. What better way to do that than privately with a trained professional who likes helping people improve their lives!

Hi there and welcome. People usually connect with me to work on trauma recovery including complex trauma, OCD, anxiety or stress management, and navigating life changes. When people ask why I am a therapist, the true answer is I'm wired for it and I love it. So that means I'll be curious and open about your situation. Cost can be a barrier, so I offer affordable rates.

FAQ - Therapist Gender
As a man, why might I want to see a male therapist?
There are many reasons a man might wish to work with a male therapist, including a degree of shared identity, which may help client and therapist connect to each other and allow for a more free-flowing discussion of issues that can be deeply personal. Some men may feel more comfortable talking to a male therapist about relationship concerns, the pressures they feel around the roles society and family place on men, career or job challenges, self-esteem, or anger problems. For some men who have not had a male role models in their lives, a good male therapist may be especially helpful.

How can I find out about a therapist’s experience treating men?
Individuals looking for treatment should feel comfortable directly asking a therapist about their history treating men overall and the issues that arise in therapy with men. A good therapist will be happy to discuss such matters as well as their educational background, approach to treatment, and how they think they can aid a prospective client.

Can clients benefit from having a therapist of the same gender?
Therapy is not gender-specific, but some men as well as women feel more comfortable opening up about their experiences and history with therapists of a specific gender. An individual may feel that they have to explain less background information and be on the same page more quickly, particularly when discussing gender-specific challenges. That said, a good clinician can transcend most if not all gender concerns. Ultimately, the most important factor in therapy is the connection and trust the client is able to build with the practitioner.

Would a male therapist have specific training in treating men?
Generally, no. There are no certifications for treating men specifically, but there are continuing education classes that therapists may take that focus on treating men as a group. There are many therapists who focus on men and male issues in their treatment and therefore have experience and expertise in this domain.
