An ideal client is anyone that wants to understand their “why” and better themselves by first, validating their existence and purpose. I want to help people explore who they are, how to create work arounds and strategies for the things they struggle with and to teach them how to celebrate their very existence and reason.

Does it feel like you are running on autopilot just to get through the day? Your brain never shuts off. You are juggling responsibilities, you forget things, feel overstimulated, and you can't quiet the anxiety. Many adults, especially women, discover these struggles may be burnout or ADHD that went unrecognized for years. In therapy we will slow things down, make sense of how your brain works, and build practical tools for managing overwhelm, setting boundaries, and quieting the constant self criticism. Therapy with me is supportive, practical, and yes, we will laugh along the way because healing does not have to feel so heavy!

An ideal client is someone who is willing to take that first brave step—reaching out for the help they know they need. Often, making the initial call is the hardest part, which is why it’s also the most powerful. The purpose of therapy is to support you in achieving your personal goals through open, honest, and meaningful conversations.
Therapy is not an overnight solution; it’s a journey that takes time, commitment, and mutual effort between the client and therapist. Every client has the right to confidentiality—and the right to a therapist who truly cares.

Primarily my practice is rooted in CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Play Therapy, however I also have some influence from IFS.
Prior to completing my MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling I worked as a Victim Advocate for victim survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence. While working as an advocate I saw a need for survivors for non acute trauma treatment as well as mental health treatment for child survivors. I'm also a new mental health provider, which means I'm creative!

Do you "know what to do" to feel better, yet you struggle to follow through? Have you been feeling unseen, stuck, or burnt out from always putting others first? You may know why you do these things (people pleasing, procrastinating, putting yourself last) but still find it hard to change. Maybe you’ve even tried therapy before and left feeling the same as when you started. If this resonates with you and you are ready to dig deeper than simply being "self aware", you've come to the right place.

Depending on your needs, I may integrate techniques from ACT, CBT, DBT, and ERP, among others.
You may be someone who has already spent time reflecting on your life and wants to understand yourself more deeply. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and insightful, but feel stuck in patterns they cannot quite untangle on their own. They may be facing relentless anxiety, intrusive thoughts and compulsions, grief, depression, major life transitions or recovery from trauma. Often they are asking deeper questions about identity, values, and direction and want a space to explore those “why” questions and make meaningful changes. Many of my clients are also neurodivergent, and you will find this a welcoming space to be you.

Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
