A sense of safety is critical for progress in psychotherapy, and I take care to provide that sense of safety for each person I serve. I appreciate the uniqueness of each person and family I encounter, and work in partnership with them to create their own unique healing process, based upon proven treatments, solid research, and recent advances in treatment protocol. I am a certified trauma counselor, registered play therapist, and Theraplay practitioner and trainer. I provide family therapy that prioritizes the value of each member of the family, healing individuals and relationships, and building or rebuilding healthy family dynamics.

In a world that feels anything but normal, do you feel profoundly out of sync with yourself and with your life—overwhelmed, as if you're losing your footing and crashing out, unable to find a safe place to land? Perhaps this struggle shows up as chronic pain, constant anxiety, or ongoing health problems that follow you everywhere. I want you to know you are not alone. I have devoted my entire life to finding a path of healing that actually works, because I have walked this path, too. My life's work is a gentle and profound journey to help you release the heavy burdens you've been carrying and finally come home to yourself.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge your bravery in making it to this stage of your journey. You may have acknowledged that you feel stuck due to experiences you had long ago or more recent. Maybe you’ve noticed a change in your relationships or an inner-critic that lingers. Perhaps you feel disconnected from yourself and want to feel more confident in all aspects of your life. I specialize in helping teens and adults work through trauma and its expressions, including relational wounds, chronic self-doubt, trouble with boundary setting, and more. We'll work to process your story to explore who you are and want to become.

Do you depend on psychiatric meds, caffeine, sugar, or alcohol just to get through the day? Has anxiety, insomnia, stress, fatigue, and low mood become your baseline while juggling work, marriage, and raising kids? You’re stuck in self-judgment, comparison, and exhaustion. You’ve tried therapy, medication and are starting to believe you are the mental health labels providers have placed on you. Consider this: you do not have a mental illness or a chemical imbalance and your brain is not broken. It may be your lifestyle, nervous system, and being gaslit by Western medicine that's keeping you stuck.

Everyone’s brain has its own rhythm, and sometimes that rhythm feels “sticky.” Thoughts get stuck, worries loop, focus drifts or emotions feel bigger than expected. I primarily work with children, teens and young adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, autism, executive functioning challenges and emotional regulation. I also support parents, clinicians and educators who want clarity on what’s going on and practical ways to help at home and school. Please note that I am not accepting new long-term therapy clients at this time. ADHD and psychological evaluations are currently available April '26. ASD evaluations are booking into Sept. '26.

My approach is client-led, collaborative, and compassion focused, and I use a mix of cognitive and somatic (body based) techniques to help you strengthen your mind-body connection and heal your whole self - mind, body, and soul.
On the surface, you seem fine but inside, you’re overwhelmed, anxious and constantly doubting yourself. You struggle with saying "no" and asking for what you need. You aim for perfection, but there's still that nagging feeling that you're just not good enough. The pressure to be perfect and please everyone is exhausting and it can feel like there's no way out, but the good news is: you're not alone and it's possible to find relief. Together, we'll work on quieting your inner critic, setting boundaries without guilt, building healthy, authentic relationships with yourself and others, and finding peace and joy around and within you.

We all have things we like in our lives and things we'd like to change for the better. This may mean improving relationships, a desire to improve mood, and/or addressing health issues or social issues impeding on one's ability to have the life they want. We are all doing the best we can, but often we want something more out of life, and we need some help to bring this to fruition. Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to identify what is going well and what might need change. It can also facilitate new effective ways of being.

I incorporate EMDR, somatic, and attachment therapies in my work, and am grounded in an understanding of how trauma and oppression impact the nervous system and the body.
Do you feel overwhelmed by emotions or physical symptoms, such as hopelessness, pain, or panic? Does the thought of being present with your body feel uncomfortable or even scary? In my work, I help folks of all backgrounds find a sense of safety in their body after experiences of trauma, chronic pain, and body-based oppression (transphobia, anti-fat bias, ableism, racism, etc.). We’ll work together to understand and befriend your nervous system and build upon experiences of safety and connection to promote healing and emotional well-being.

I use brain-based therapy, hypnotherapy, somatic work, and inner child/parts work, tailored to your needs.
You want to be a calm, present, and loving parent—but your triggers, anger, and self-doubt keep getting in the way. Maybe you lose patience and spiral into shame, or find yourself repeating patterns you swore you’d never pass down. You might feel like you’re constantly walking on eggshells around your own emotions, afraid of getting it wrong.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
