If you’re dealing with anxiety, you may already understand yourself pretty well and still feel stuck. You might know why you think the way you do, but that hasn’t stopped your mind from racing, worrying, or pulling you away from the life you want. I work especially well with people whose anxiety is driven by high standards, overthinking, and the sense that they should be doing life “better.” I often support clients with perfectionistic or rigid tendencies, intrusive thoughts and mental loops, who feel exhausted from trying to control their minds.

Many people come to therapy feeling anxious, overwhelmed, disconnected, or like something is out of balance. They may recognize patterns in how they think, feel, or respond to stress, yet still feel stuck or unsure why they feel this way—or how to create meaningful change. I believe the ways we cope often develop for a reason—they reflect our attempts to navigate life's challenges and the environments that have shaped us. Together, we explore your experiences as a whole, creating space for understanding, self-compassion, and new possibilities.

You might be feeling shut down, frustrated, or like something’s off in your relationship, your work, or just internally. Maybe you’ve always prided yourself on handling things on your own, telling yourself, “it’s fine” or “I’ll push through it.” But lately, that’s not working like it used to. You’re not weak for feeling stuck. You’re human. Together, we can get honest, sort through the noise, and get back in touch with what matters most to you. I work with men, couples, and individuals who want more clarity and connection in their relationships and lives.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.

How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.

How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.

How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
