I draw from a combination of mindfulness and compassion techniques, strengths-based counseling, Cognitive Behavioral Counseling (CBT), and Jungian Personality Development (MBTI).
What you do for work often has a significant impact on your emotional well-being. I offer holistic career counseling to help clients handle barriers on the way to pursuing a satisfying professional and personal life. Together we will tap into your strengths as a way to address internal barriers such as anxiety, self-doubt, or grief after job loss. We might also explore issues related to workplace environment, effective interviewing, decision making, and job search strategies. We will collaborate creatively to identify your specific needs and develop your full potential.

Because of the solution-focused and body-centered nature of some of my mindfulness and trauma-recovery work, clients often come to see me for short-term therapy (less than 10 sessions) to address a specific, unresolved issue.
Clients often come to see me when they feel lost, stuck, or overwhelmed. I strive to help clients identify and explore the foundation of a challenge or issue so that they can effectively (and often quickly) achieve deep and lasting change. My work is rooted in my belief that our bodies and minds are designed to heal, and we can get stuck when those innate processes are interrupted or ignored. I use an integrative approach to help strengthen the client's inherent wisdom and ability to heal, with an emphasis on self-awareness, skill-building, and the mind-body connection.

So, I guess your question would be, "Why should I choose you as my therapist over others? Will I make more progress working with you?" I do believe in educating clients with regard to CBT/DBT/ Mindfulness techniques, which are invaluable when used to improve everyday functioning and helping individuals manage distress. However, where clients remain stuck is a combination of 1) Not being aware of underlying unresolved issues and 2) Not knowing how to get at them and bring them forward to consciousness. Often, therapists work with traumatic 'events' that clients bring to them. I process these events, but also help uncover more.

I use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness , and mind-body techniques to help people cope better.
Life transitions, such as having a baby, getting married, moving, getting a new job or having an illness in the family, can be really stressful and lead to anxiety. You might feel like you should be able to cope with the changes or that you are overreacting. You just want to feel calmer and like you are in control again. I help people to feel better both emotionally and physically as they learn to navigate the changes in their lives.

I weave my extensive training in mindfulness meditation into all of my work.
I work with adults in individual and couples therapy to help address the challenges of anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, divorce, and relationship problems. I believe that psychotherapy is collaborative and that the relationship between the therapist and client is essential to the process of change. I work to develop this relationship through gaining a deep understanding and respect for each individual and their unique circumstances.

Integrating the body through mindfulness -based approaches can help resolve deeper core concerns.
My approach centers on the mind-body connection. My goal is to facilitate deep healing with psychosomatic therapy. Through interpersonal and systemic traumas, unmet needs throughout life, and generally overwhelming situations, we struggle with disconnection and an inability to cope. Using approaches, like IFS and Brainspotting, we will work together to process emotions and distress and increase your ability to cope. If you are feeling lost, stuck, fearful, or hopeless, an attuned presence can help to guide you on your journey. Through a mind-body connection in therapy, you can heal to achieve wholeness and wellness.

I tailor my therapy approach to the unique needs of my clients and believe in a collaborative approach to healing that also incorporates mindfulness .
Often times throughout life we find ourselves feeling disconnected. This can leave us feeling anxious, depressed, untethered and lost without any sense of direction. My goal as a therapist is to support my clients as they navigate and discover the path to their most authentic self. I strive to provide a safe space where clients feel comfortable in exploring their past, rewriting different narratives, and forging an understanding of self that enables living presently. Together we'll discover your strengths, while exploring areas that crave nurturing and healing.

The confusion that comes with anxiety, depression, or conflicted relationships can make any person feels as if they are stumbling in the dark, unable to remember positive experiences such as simple happiness, curiosity, and fulfillment. Effective psychotherapy is like "turning on the lights" of awareness, allowing us to recover internal clarity, healthy connection with others, and meaningful sense of direction.

I specialize in sports psychology approaches with student athletes, including improving performance, mindfulness skills, loss of sport, and recovery from injury.
“What matters?” This is one of the most important questions I can ask of my clients. Without knowing what matters what they are passionate about, neither of us know why we are in the “room." To figure out the why (Why WOULD I do my homework, why would I go to practice, etc.) gives us a meaningful direction. Also let’s talk about fun. Isn’t that the whole point of NOT being an adult? If I’m not enjoying the session, I can bet my client is definitely not. I work hard to ensure a relaxed and welcoming environment that is filled filled with unconditional positive regard, hard work, humor, flexibility and appreciation, and fun.

In my counseling work I weave Western psychology, Eastern philosophy, and holistic mindfulness and movement practices together to help you access your inner wisdom and innate healing potential.
I believe that our minds, bodies, emotions, and relationships all exist interdependently. When one part of the system fails to thrive, our whole way of being can be put off balance. When we are able to explore these imbalances within the safe space of a trusting, authentic therapeutic relationship, our innate movement towards ease and wellness can be restored.

Mindfulness-Based (MBCT) Therapists
For clients with chronic pain, hypertension, heart disease, cancer, and other health issues such as anxiety and depression, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, or MBCT, is a two-part therapy that aims to reduce stress, manage pain, and embrace the freedom to respond to situations by choice. MCBT blends two disciplines--cognitive therapy and mindfulness. Mindfulness helps by reflecting on moments and thoughts without passing judgment. MBCT clients pay close attention to their feelings to reach an objective mindset, thus viewing and combating life's unpleasant occurrences.
