I understand that therapy doesn't have to be a life-long process but it can help significantly when you are going through difficult circumstances that create worry, anger or a feeling of being at a loss.
I am a marriage and family therapist as well as a play therapist specializing in attachment work and Sand Tray Therapy. In addition, I am a certified Prepare/Enrich facilitator, which involves premarital counseling. I conduct EMDR with adults and kids who have experienced significant trauma in their lives.

I also work with clients struggling with other anxieties, grief and loss, depression, fertility challenges, parenting stress and complex family relationships.
It is my belief that the foundation of successful therapy lies in the relationship we build together. Healing happens in the context of trust, safety, and connection, and my priority is to create a space where you feel truly seen, understood, and supported. Therapy is not just about addressing symptoms—it’s about deepening your understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the world around you so that you can break free from patterns that have kept you stuck and move toward a more fulfilling life. I began my career in 2013 working for the Air Force Special Operations Command, in support of Active-Duty Veterans and families.

I’m so glad you’re considering counseling, the right support can make all the difference! We are often so good at meeting the needs of others, but struggle to take care of ourselves in the same meaningful way. I help women who are ready to up their self-care game and let go of what no longer serves them, whether it's anxiety and stress, unhelpful relationship patterns, perfectionism and constant over-thinking, a heavy emotional load or past traumas. I also work with young adults to help with academic stress/anxiety, relationships, and major life transitions. Change is truly possible and you deserve the support to make it happen!

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
