It is my belief that the foundation of successful therapy lies in the relationship we build together. Healing happens in the context of trust, safety, and connection, and my priority is to create a space where you feel truly seen, understood, and supported. Therapy is not just about addressing symptoms—it’s about deepening your understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the world around you so that you can break free from patterns that have kept you stuck and move toward a more fulfilling life. I began my career in 2013 working for the Air Force Special Operations Command, in support of Active-Duty Veterans and families.

Life is complicated—especially when you’ve spent so much of it prioritizing others over yourself. Maybe you had emotionally immature parents who dismissed your feelings, making you question your own needs and learn to keep the peace instead. Or you’ve spent years people-pleasing, saying ‘yes’ when you wanted to say ‘no.’ While people-pleasing may seem like kindness, it often keeps you from living authentically—trapping you in a version of yourself shaped by what others expect rather than who you truly are. Therapy is a space to untangle those patterns, rebuild trust in yourself, and create a life that truly reflects who you are!

Do you find yourself questioning your choices, struggling with emotions that seem to arise out of nowhere, or feeling disconnected from your true self? Are you unsure why you feel stuck despite your best efforts and caught in patterns you can’t seem to break? You’re not alone. Often, the past lingers beneath the surface, shaping our present in ways we don’t even realize. But insight brings choice, and choice brings change.
My approach to therapy isn’t about quick fixes - it’s about developing a deep, compassionate self-understanding that empowers you to break free from unhelpful patterns and pressures.

Your child is having these big, unexpected emotional reactions and/or anxiety, and they've started yelling, hitting, stomping, slamming doors, and are inconsolable. Their reaction seems to be way out of proportion compared to the situation. You try to stay calm, validate their feelings, and use tools to help them calm down, but it just isn't working. These over-the-top emotions leave you feeling frustrated, exhausted, and defeated. You are desperately needing support in helping you and your child understand their emotions and learn how to handle day-to-day life more calmly.

The populations that I most enjoy working with are tweens, teens, and young adults (ages 11 - 25), as well as Mom's in their perinatal & postpartum journey. I love being able to work youth and adults through life transitions (going into middle/high school/college), struggles in communication, implementation of healthy boundaries, low self-worth, familial dysfunction, etc. Additionally, I have a huge passion for working besides Moms within their journey of motherhood and all of the internal and external transitions that this often includes. If you have questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Prior to becoming a therapist I was a pilot in the Army for about 8 years, and one of the big reasons I got into therapy was because of how impactful it was for me personally. My undergraduate degree was completed at the United States Military Academy: West Point in 2015, and my masters degree at UW-Stout in 2022. Since starting as a therapist, I have worked with a wide variety of concerns including trauma, personality disorders, depression, anxiety, couples counseling, and self-image.

How does cognitive processing therapy work?
A CPT therapist helps a client evaluate their thoughts about the trauma they experienced, focusing on maladaptive or self-blaming thoughts that can exacerbate symptoms of PTSD, anxiety, or depression. The therapist will work with a client to help them learn to challenge such thoughts and consider different perspectives. The therapist is also likely to ask a client to work on these techniques at home between meetings, such as writing an account of their trauma that can be read aloud during a future session.
What is cognitive processing therapy for PTSD?
Cognitive processing therapy (CPT) is a form of cognitive-behavioral therapy primarily used in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) to treat individuals who experienced abuse or violence, who survived natural disasters, who were first responders to such incidents, or who otherwise experienced trauma.
How long does cognitive processing therapy last?
CPT is a short-term therapy. Whether conducted one-on-one or in a group, a complete set of CPT sessions typically includes 12 weekly sessions, along with tasks for clients to complete at home, although this can vary depending on a client’s needs or a therapist’s particular treatment plan. Sessions typically last 60 or 90 minutes.
How effective is cognitive processing therapy?
A large body of research supports the use of CPT to treat people experiencing PTSD, finding it to be effective among different age groups, either in one-on-one therapy sessions or in a group therapy environment. Research suggests that although the initial sessions may be difficult, clients tend to begin to feel positive progress after the first few sessions, and that the benefits tend to last well after the therapy ends.
