Frustrated? Down? Simply want to be functioning as well as the next person? Anxious just going to the grocery store? Is your teen having trouble getting their homework done, hiding away in their room, and saying everything is, "fine." Daily living isn't easy. There's really no way around it. It's hard for you, it's hard for your kids (if you have them), it's hard for all of us. The great thing is we are not alone and we don't have to go through it alone. Life is so much better when we talk things through and get support. So many times we think we are the only ones feeling this way...sad, anxious, angry, hopeless...we aren't.

I help adults on the autism spectrum—including those diagnosed in adulthood, those formerly identified with Asperger’s, and those who strongly suspect they may be neurodivergent—gain greater self-awareness and emotional insight, explore who they are without the ‘mask,’ and find deeper meaning in their lives. Many autistic clients struggle with social relationships, feeling misunderstood, the fatigue of camouflaging, and symptoms of depression and anxiety. They want relationships to feel easier and less confusing, make sense of their emotions, reduce autistic burnout, ‘mask’ less, and be their authentic self.

My primary experience is with children and adolescents, particularly those that have been in the child welfare system or adopted. This has led to much focus on conditions such as ADHD, Anxiety, Trauma, and Depression. I have a passion for identity work in emerging adults and those that are experiencing unexpected life changes.

Life gets messy. Stress, depression, anxiety, grief, fear, and uncertainty are just some of the many experiences that can knock any of us down and leave us wondering where to turn. No one should have to face life’s struggles alone. With counseling, you don't have to.

As a licensed psychologist, I offer counseling and assessment services for adults, children, couples, and families. I believe it is critical to recognize each person's diverse needs and unique background. I aim to foster an environment of understanding by guiding clients to gain awareness and develop coping skills. Together, we explore how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected. As clients begin to recognize patterns in thinking, feeling, and behavior, they practice effective coping skills. When clients apply the skills they have learned, they build confidence, overcome personal obstacles, and thrive.

Where did the happily ever after go? You thought it would be until death do us part yet here you are, navigating the aftermath of divorce or separation, feeling lost, depleted, and unsure of what comes next. On the outside, you may be holding it together. Inside, you’re exhausted. Nights are restless, filled with replayed conversations and unanswered questions. The future that once felt clear now feels cloudy. Emotions like loss, rejection, resentment may linger. You want relief. You want to feel calmer, more confident, and more connected to yourself and to the life ahead. You’re ready to stop surviving and start living.

I draw from CBT, solution-focused strategies, trauma-informed care, and (when it aligns with your values) Christian counseling, sometimes with gentle humor.
Stuck in anxiety that won’t let up? Exhausted by trauma echoes, depression, or repeating family/relationship cycles? You’ve tried handling it alone, but the overwhelm isn’t easing and reaching out feels scary. I’m really glad you’re here. With over 20 years as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and an MBA that blends deep clinical insight with practical strategies, I help individuals, couples, and families break those patterns

As a creative, introspective, or deeply feeling person, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or disconnected at times. Navigating challenges like anxiety, relationship struggles, or body image concerns can make it hard to stay grounded. I’m passionate about supporting individuals to explore their inner world, reconnect with their authentic selves, and learn healthier ways to cope with overwhelming emotions. My clients are often age 16+, deep feelers and thinkers, and may struggle with perfectionism, high achievement, or experiences such as anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, or burnout.

My ideal clients are people who’ve carried so much quietly and are ready for a space where they don’t have to be strong every moment. I offer a calm, culturally aware place to slow down, breathe, and feel truly understood. I support clients navigating stress, trauma, identity, and life changes, honoring the stories, roots, and experiences that shaped them. My hope is that each person feels seen, supported, and gently encouraged as they heal in a way that feels true to who they are becoming.

Christian Therapists
Why is it important for a therapist to be culturally sensitive?
Therapists and clients don’t need to share the same belief system or background to be able to work effectively together, but a therapist whose training includes a focus on cultural competence may be better able to form a therapeutic bond with individuals from a range of backgrounds, as they will have experience in tailoring their approach to each client—and will be prepared to acknowledge and consider the effects of culture, religion, and other factors on each individual.

Why is it important to find a therapist sensitive to Christian values?
Each person brings a unique history and background to therapy, making it important to find a licensed therapist who is trained in a broad range of treatment modalities. In addition, for people who grow up in a faith tradition that strongly influences the way they conduct their everyday life, finding a therapist who understands or shares that background can ease the disclosure of sensitive information and facilitate the therapeutic process. For some clients, a Christian therapist is likely to incorporate faith-based principles into emotional healing techniques.

How do I recognize an effective Christian therapist?
Christian therapists are licensed mental health professionals—holding a master’s or doctoral degree in medicine, nursing, psychology, counseling, social work, or marriage and family therapy—who are also familiar with Christian beliefs and values. They have an understanding of the importance that Christian principles play in the lives of individuals and families, which allows them to be especially sensitive to the kinds of struggles that can affect daily functioning. Like all effective therapists, a Christian therapist will have undergone training and certification in a variety of treatment modalities that help people through crises and enable them to master the challenges of life.

Why might someone feel comfortable with a Christian therapist?
While training, qualifications, and experience are always important, research has long established that a strong alliance between client and therapist is a major contributor to therapeutic success. An alliance is likely to be strengthened with a therapist who not only is responsive to questions and concerns but also shares a client’s faith and values. Sensitivity to spiritual matters as well as to everyday struggles can provide a welcome sense of safety and contribute to the bond between client and therapist, both of which support the therapeutic process.

Who is included in Psychology Today’s directory of Christian therapists?
The directory of Christian therapists includes professionals who have shared their background in their profiles. However, not all therapists choose to disclose this information, and they may not appear in search results for this reason. The directory also shows therapists who indicate that they have extensive experience working with Christian clients, regardless of their own background or religious affiliation.
