I am a licensed clinical social worker in the helping field for over 20 years, with the last 14 years focusing on uncovering the best therapies/techniques to address trauma, anxiety, grief, and depression, as well as addressing performance enhancement, which includes but is not limited to Brainspotting, Somatic therapies, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
As a psychotherapist, I love what I do. I am most passionate about empowering people to tap into their own innate and natural ability to heal and grow. My treatment philosophy is nonjudgmental, strength-based, and trauma informed. My therapeutic style is to help individuals find their inner gifts and challenge them in a compassionate and direct way. Every individual has their own personal journey that is unique to them all that is needed is a foundation of trust, respect, and equality for clients to heal. I believe as a helping professional it is an honor and a privilege to be a part of that path to wellness.

Behavioral health therapy is the heart of my practice. It's a powerful tool to enhance quality of life. By empowering clients to focus on positive aspects, challenge negative self-talk, practice self-respect, manage stress and resolve conflicts in relationships, I aim to foster positive transformation and growth. I believe that even small steps can lead to significant improvements, enriching daily experiences and boosting overall well-being.

Accepting new clients through online sessions who reside in Wisconsin, Texas, & Colorado. Are you feeling discouraged in your relationship? Have you lost that warm and close feeling you once had? It feels like forever since you spent time together just hanging out and enjoying life. You try to discuss important matters, but you end up arguing and feeling tired and frustrated. To others you all look like you have it all together and are living the dream. But on the inside, you miss what you and your partner once had. Life and its challenges have created a distance between you. Not anymore. It's time for a change.

My specialties primarily surround grief/ loss, life transitions and trauma work all of which look different for each individual.
I believe that everyone is on their own unique journey in life and although this journey can be rewarding, it often comes with challenges as well. My number one goal as a clinician has never been to tell my clients what to do or not to do but rather be a guide when support is needed. As a therapist, I always feel that it's an incredible honor to be a part of someone's journey whether it be for a brief period of time or something that's more long-term.

Grief Therapists
How long does therapy take for grief?
There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?
Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?
Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?
Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
