I help thoughtful, high-functioning adults, couples, and teenagers who feel anxious, emotionally disconnected, or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to change.
My approach is collaborative and insight-oriented, and focuses on more than reducing symptoms. Together, we can create space to slow down to better understand what is happening internally - your emotions, patterns, relationships, and the ways you may feel stuck or disconnected from yourself.

I specialize in helping people - just like you - struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, major life transitions, and relationship difficulties.
Feeling overwhelmed is all too common these days. Sometimes, uncomfortable thoughts and feelings even keep you up at night. You spend a lot of time trying to convince yourself that everything is "fine,” but deep down you know it's not true. Hoping all of this would just go away hasn't worked. Instead, you feel sad, isolated, and scared. If you're being honest with yourself, you know things won't improve unless you take action; but it's hard to imagine what would make a difference.

I specialize in anxiety, disordered eating/body image, adult child/parent no-contact, trauma, and issues stemming from substance use.
You're here because the internal scrutiny about how your body looks and what food you’re allowed to eat keeps getting louder and more overwhelming. Or maybe you’ve realized just how often you second-guess yourself, feel nervous, drained, and replay social interactions in your head. Perhaps an important relationship has gone down the drain and loneliness is feeling unbearable. I know it may seem like it right now, but you're not alone here. I can help you navigate and find relief from issues like these, as well as adult child estrangement, trauma, low self-esteem, and substance use.

Therapy with me is a conversation, not a lecture. I'll help you better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, and break free from patterns that no longer serve you. Together, we'll build practical tools, create meaningful change, and even find room for humor along the way, because healing doesn't always have to be heavy.

I see psychotherapy as a collaborative and exploratory process, in which your specific goals, needs, and wishes will determine the focus of our work and I will help you navigate through the impasses, challenges, and complexity that inevitably confront us as human beings. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to addressing mental health or for righting the ‘ship – our relationship to self and others in our life. That is why I tailor treatment to address the deeply personal concerns you are contending with. I have experience in psychodynamic, relational, CBT, and ACT. Oftentimes, a combination or integration of approaches works best.

Anxiety is a b
Healing is on the other side of facing parts of yourself you've rejected. I'm not gonna lie, it hurts at first, until one day you can notice the hurt without getting lost in it. My approach to therapy is relational. In sessions we dig deep, while also leaning into some dark humor because I know that's one of your go to coping skills.

I believe in empowering people to grow and change, to help them climb out of mental anguish into a life of hope and meaning. I am passionate about my work, but conscientious, as well. I know how hard it is to engage in therapy, how much courage it takes, and that people do so out of a strong need to end their suffering and pain.

Anxiety Therapists
When should I seek treatment for anxiety?
Everyone feels anxious at times, but when anxiety causes disruption to your daily life, it may be time to seek help. Such disruption can be mental, physical, or both: having fear dominate your thoughts, avoiding situations or objects that bring on feelings of anxiety, or experiencing shortness of breath, sweating, dizziness, or panic attacks. When these symptoms are recurrent and distressing, it may be time to talk to someone.

What are the most common types of treatment for anxiety?
Talk therapy, particularly cognitive behavioral therapy, is the most common treatment for anxiety. Studies have shown it is equally effective as medication. Other popular forms of therapy are popular, depending on a patient’s experience. Exposure therapy, for instance, can be useful for people dealing with fears and phobias, or who have experienced traumatic events. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy may be useful for patients who need help with emotion regulation. Anxiolytic medications, like benzodiazepines, can also help with calming a person enough to focus on the skills they’ve learned, and physical exercise has been shown to help symptoms of anxiety across the board.

How long does therapy for anxiety take to work?
The amount of time needed to alleviate symptoms depends on the severity of a person’s condition. Some therapies may take 5-20 weekly sessions to show results. Anti-depressant medications typically take two to four weeks before a benefit is felt. Anti-anxiety medications are felt typically within 20-30 minutes. Medications are best used to offer a patient a better headspace in which to work on techniques learned in therapy. Exercise, improved sleep habits, and meditation are effective, but takes weeks or months to show results.

How effective is treatment for anxiety?
Treatment for anxiety has been shown to be moderately to highly effective, according to a large body of psychology studies and analyses. For some people, treatment using CBT or exposure therapy alone is effective. Others respond best to a combination of medication and therapy.
