Whether I’m working with a child learning to manage big emotions, a teen navigating the pressures of growing up, or a woman feeling stretched by life’s demands, my goal is the same—to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and understood.
I’m Cassie—mom, wife, clinician, and small business owner. I came into this work because I saw too many people silently struggling—feeling alone, overwhelmed, and weighed down by unrealistic expectations.
I focus on helping individuals who struggle with emotional regulation—learning how to recognize and understand big feelings, and develop healthier ways to cope.
Over time, I've noticed a common thread across all ages and stages: many people were
never taught how to understand or regulate their emotions.
The same overwhelm that shows up in women during life transitions often appears in children anxiety, shutdown, or outbursts.

* You can be happy * loving and effective counseling for individuals (adults, youth & children), couples (pre-marital, new parent couples, partnership, marriage, divorce, separation and co-parenting) and families (house calls available).
Counseling can be a daunting idea. Sometimes the process can be uncomfortable, even painful, but that is the course of healing. We have no "User's Manual" for many of life's challenges as we navigate our days and years with partners, children and life changes.

I am passionate about working with teens and children, offering both individual and family therapy to support reducing conflict, improving understanding of each other, and building deep, meaningful relationships.
Families are messy. I have a particular soft spot for the "odd one out"; those who have spent years wondering why it's so hard to figure out relationships or feel close to the people you genuinely love. Helping folks navigate boundaries with family members, learn to speak up for the first time, redefine old relationship patterns, or consider significant changes in how they relate to the people closest to them are the things I most enjoy doing. I'm passionate about working with all things family: parent-child (of all ages!), sibling, parenting, family roles, life transitions, and the complicated emotions that come with belonging.

Many of my first sessions start as “So I saw this TikTok and I think I have...”, and that's ok! The courage it took you to start seeking a therapist is real. It's hard to reach out and trust someone when you’ve been burned so many times. The struggles you’re fighting inside yourself, can’t help but show up in your relationships. As you go through life you collect experiences that shape you, however some of those shapes just don’t fit like they used to. That’s when you know it’s time to change. Distancing yourself from the people you love most when you are hurting or falling into new situations that make you feel worse, isn’t working

You might be in the middle of a big transition, or capable and accomplished on the outside while quietly carrying anxiety, burnout, or a sense that something isn't right. You might be wrestling with a hard decision, questioning a path you once felt sure of, or navigating questions of identity, belonging, and what it means to live authentically — including as an LGBTQ+, trans, non-binary, or gender-fluid person, or as a man working to engage more fully with your inner life. Together, we'll make sense of what's weighing on you and find a path forward that feels honest and right.

FAQ - Teenage and Adolescent Therapists
What does therapy for teenagers look like?
When a therapist works with a teenager, the pair will talk about what the teen is struggling with and explore solutions, which may involve interpersonal skills, coping strategies, medication, or lifestyle changes related to sleep, diet, and exercise. Different therapists employ different modalities, but most involve a combination of conversation and skill building.
How long does therapy for teenagers generally take to work?
There’s variability in teenagers’ experiences and challenges; some may begin to improve from therapy within a few weeks while others may take several months or longer. Teens can discuss their progress with their therapist periodically to assess how they’re improving and any changes to the treatment plan that could potentially accelerate that progress.
How do you encourage a teenager to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love while framing therapy as an opportunity to explore a tool that could help improve their life; just like they practice baseball or dance, now they can practice their emotional skills. Give your teen control over the process where you can—maybe by weighing in on choice of therapist and signaling that therapy involves confidentiality, so a parent need not know all that is discussed in sessions.
How do you prepare teens for therapy?
You can prepare your teenager for therapy by describing what the process will look like and setting expectations for timeline, if requested. You can explain that the first session may begin with an assessment phase, that they can describe their experiences but that the therapist will ask questions too, and that it may take time to feel comfortable opening up. Ask how they’re feeling about the process and answer any questions calmly and supportively.
